The Geneva healthcare agency has updated their website and they now have written on it that they can give advise on available make up courses for those people like me who trained in the UK and Australia and have not got the required hours for sitting the NCLEX.... THIS is all I know for now...will ring up geneva healthcare and have a c hat and find out more...as soon as i do i will post the info on here!

Interested to see what they have to say, in the past they were telling everyone that they did not need to make up the hours. Nicve to see that they are now changing their tune.

Hi Tina,
Keep us informed; I'm in my third year now and starting to wonder if it is possible to top up our training as I havn't been able to find out any way; even had lobng conversations with ogp, but they don't seem to have a stratergy; which is interesting as they seem not to realise that this problem is only gonna get bigger for them untill they are squeezed out of the UK market....

John,
Your easiest route for you is to try to get the hours in while you are still in your program. If you have any elective time available to you, this would be the time to use it.

Thanks in advance
Hi,Does anyone have any tips on becoming a UK nurse? Thanks in advance
Depends if you are already a RN wanting to come to the UK to work then you need to go the the NM website and all info re overseas nurse is listed. If you want to train in the UK then you have to think about whether you want to work elsewhere ie USA and whether your hours will meet the other country's requirements as training in the UK is more specialised. Also would depend on which university you want to go to, whether they will accept you if you haven't lived in the UK for the last 3 years you will have to pay international fees, be able to support yourself whilst at uni and not be entitled to a bursery.
Can you give us a bit more info?
