I dont want to do this anymore!!!
I'm glad you got out of ward nursing. I knew I didn't want work in medical the first day I stepped onto the ward and it had nothing to do with the patients or the workload. Everyone tells you that you need the medical experience. I surely dont think so. I beleive I can learn anything if you have the right teacher but if you work with people who are not good techers or nonsupportive you cant learn a thing. Why would anyone love working on a ward if nurses are rude, back stabbing and uncaring towards their fellow workers?Good for you for changing your life!!

Still shortage of nurses in UK?
I was recently in Hospital in the UK and the day I was ready to go home, I didnt even see a nurse until she discharged me. Who would want to work in a hospital? I mean I have worked in a few countrys and the nurses have the similar attitudes. They should feel lucky they have jobs , they let the stress get to them and they take it out on their fellow coworkers and patients. If the NHS was that poor , they should abolish the whole system. If they did abolish it, the doctors would be out of jobs, trust managers would be out of jobs, so they wont abolish the system. They pick on the nurses because there are many of them and think they could do with a few less. But they will see that eventually it will not work. Who would the doctors prescribe medication too? Can you imagine how much money they would loose? The questions could go on and on.............

need help getting out of dangerous job!
Get legal advice! There must be a free legal advice in your city somewhere? Nurses are treated unfairly at times , and its about time we stood up for ourselves. Take care and I wish you well.

wedding rings at work
Hi, I guess common sense would tell me not to wear a big stones to work. I dont have that anyway. I would wear my gold band but even this I would hesitate. The worst thing I have is when I see many nurses with long nails. The last place I worked, I thought about how unacceptable it was and the managers do nothing. They do nothing because they are freinds with these nurses. Bacteria like long nails and do like hiding inbetween stones so use your common sense. Just look up some articles in the nursing journals, you will find tons of information on the topic and how dangerous it is for vulnerable patients such as infants, and the immune compromised.
