Hi. I am cum laude newly grad who had just sit the philippine local board this june 6 and 7. Now i am waiting for the results. Is there an institution [vicinity of QC/Manila] where they cater newly grads [still without license] who can act as volunteers, primarily for the purpose of earning an experience?

Any comment will be highly appreciated.

you need to be licensed first if you want to do volunteer in hospital as nurse, you can be a red cross volunteer while waiting

is there any other institution that wants a volunteer nurse???

I don't know of any hospitals in QC or Manila who accepts volunteers without passing the NLE first. I do know that some city/government hospitals in Mindanao accepts volunteers who took the most recent NLE and are just waiting for the results.

well i suggest this is great time to fix your future credentials like NBI, SSS, passport, voter's id etc...

try to do some research about the current status of the nursing situation in our country and have some plans once you know it, plan also things you need to do if you pass or fail. if you think your confident enough that you pass the exam, well then search for hospital requirements not only here in metro manila but also in provinces... i hope i give some ideas from you... wish you luck all:D

there are still those who are licensed having difficulty looking for a nursing job and then someone who is still waiting for the result, between the two, i would choose someone whose licensed. maybe if you know somebody from the hospital, you can ask them to let you volunteer their, idk, just my 2 cents

how about doing you RED cross BLS and first aid training first while waiting, in MANILA there is no hospital accepting volunteer nurses w/out a license most of them requires ANSAP iv therapy training too.

i just saw an ad either in jobstreet of jobsdb that st. lukes is currently hiring Nursing assistant i think they need 50. they will be placed in a new st lukes facility in taguig, maybe you can qualfiy here

how about taking up an EMT course? if you're the type who's interested in emergency care, being an emt and hopefully an rn in future would be an advantage. working in an EMS is a great experience and it's quite fullfilling. :-)

There's an agency(Carelink, just google it I don't their contact number) that accepts under-board/unlicensed nurses but as a caregiver. Salary is I think (according to a friend that used to work there) P500/day for under-board/unlicensed nurses and P1000/day for private duty nurses (registered). But there is a joining fee of P2000 and examination.

how much for an EMT course and where can I apply???? how many months will it take me to get a certification?
