  1. Use facebook, look for the facebook group: Filipino EMS Practitioners and request to join. Recently, there were some who also passed the SRCA recruitment posting there and discussing about the deployment, working there etc. There's also members there who are already working for SRCA. goodluck! :)
  2. oh, are you talking about this "POEA" or a different one? :-) link: http://www.poea.gov.ph/gpb/120004.pdf
  3. I guess there's already a law against hospitals refusing patients regarding emergency treatment. They are obliged by law to provide immediate life support treatment then they can just send the patient to other hospitals if they cannot admit them. I'm just not so sure about this. Did you mean refusing patients from pre-hospital setting or interfacility transfers? If you're referring to interfacility transfers, I guess they can refuse to admit patients from other hospitals especially if they are not properly referred.
  4. I think if you already graduated and is already practicing as an EMT by the time it will be passed, you won't have a problem with LSTI's accreditation with TESDA as what I understood with Section 29-30, but I may be wrong. And also, I think that TESDA NC II program will be different with the "EMT" course in the proposed bill. Try asking mam Joan about that.
  5. What? last time I registered with AREMT, LSTI asked me for just P3,000 and as of posting time, I checked AREMT's website and it says there that registration is A$78 and $75 for renewal. Anyway doc, I recently applied to you but I guess I was a bit late because there's no more opening. hehe!
  6. The BFP also has its (EMS) Emergency medical services, they man the ambulance and respond to emergencies (trauma and medical). I've also seen some in the (SRU) Specialized rescue units. http://www.bfpresponse.gov.ph/accomemsrescue.html
  7. haha! found it! check this out Japan needs nurses, STAT - Nursing for Nurses
  8. I think I saw a thread (main forum) an article about this before here in allnurses.com
  9. I think the two statements do not agree with each other. -even if you are cum laude or superior in every endeavor you have been practicing if it is not meant to be, it will not happen -it all depends on the person and experience what does one have. and of course, the attitude and characteristic of an applicant have. I don't believe in luck. we create our own destiny. "success do not just come to you, you go it" as what is said in one of the slogans posted in the waiting area of a reputable school I know. I hope you're not saying that graduates of those schools can't rely on their acquired knowledge, skill an attitude and are not competent enough and globally competitive enough and that they just rely on what you call as LUCK. Can these potential EMT students be assured that it's not like those hundreds of fly by night nursing schools with cheaper rates but low passing rates and low standard? I don't mean to offend you but I'd like to tell you that I'm having some difficulties understanding some of your statements in English. Maybe I'm just not lucky enough. (just kidding!)
  10. That's the best thing to do. But it's better if you were able to get a strong evidence e.g. a video or a photo form you're cellphone to support your report.
  11. And then what, be convinced from their sales talk? hehe!
  12. Is there a guarantee that they have a big chance of landing a job (a high paying one and not just those low paying jobs w/c is mostly in Saudi) after taking the cheaper course? Is it worth to gamble with the cheap price of fly by night schools? Well I think having a cheaper rate is also a marketing strategy. If it's cheap then of course many will enroll, more enrollees means more income for the school. If you will research, the tuition fees of those schools who have higher rates are not far form the prices of EMT trainings conducted in other countries so you cannot say that they are expensive.
  13. I'll be careful with the word "fraud" coz other might not be comfortable with that. That's the problem with some of the LSTI grads (fyi im also a product of LSTI). Just be humble, if you know you're among the best so be it, just keep it to yourself and don't brag it with others (especially to those from other schools) because if you do, you'll be just like them. I've met many of them and It's funny how they also think of themselves that they are better. When it comes to recognition, it depends. If it's abroad you're talking, then there really is no doubt about LSTI-PSEMT. But FYI, there is also CHEERS who is also conducting an emt training with an AREMT certification, I guess you just heard that now right? One of their instructor or maybe a shareholder as well (not sure about the latter) is an AREMT assessor, he is a foreigner and if I'm not mistaken he is an assessor of AREMT for Dubai. And also, there's ERUF in Cebu, they're the only one here in the Philippines who is authorized to conduct BTLS as far as I know, not sure though. And the letter given by LSTI w/c states that all their emt-b trainings are integrated with BTLS, I'm not sure about that. I don't think it will be honored. If it's local recognition, then you cannot say that PSEMT is the only one recognized. There's the PEMFRI w/c I think is the one recognized by TESDA. There's BRIGHT w/c is I think is affiliated with PAEMSP. But if you're going to ask me w/c school I will choose when it comes to increasing your potential in landing a job abroad, then my answer is definitely LSTI. It's already proven, and there are hundreds of living proof already. I'm not saying that you will not be able to land a job abroad if you're from other school or organizations. It's just that there is a bigger market for you if you are an LSTI graduate or a PSEMT member and you have a bigger chance of landing a job with the better employers in terms of salary and working condition. It's really a sort investment. You may gamble and pay less or you can go with the proven one and pay slightly higher? It's your choice. There is a certain fly-by-night "school" who is claiming that being affiliated with an EMT professional organization is not important and that some Filipino EMT's in the past are able to land a job even if they're not affiliated with these known professional organizations. Well that word "some" speaks for itself, it means that they cannot even guarantee that you'll have a good chance of landing a job abroad w/c I think is important because there are lots of jobless nurses.
  14. Did they deploy you already? I had my final eval last august but still no progress until last December so I withdrew my application. hehe!
  15. Does it really have to be in MS? What if the experience we had was from other areas e.g. Emergency, ICU, NICU, OR etc.? Oh, and also occupational health (clinic/company nurse)? Would they count? thanks!
