I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.
Thank you!
Lol. I can completely relate...try to stay distracted. @tortia1 According to their website we should know by the end of the month if we're chosen for the meet and greet.
"Once you have registered for the new graduate event on the events page and applied to the new graduate opening as stated in the directions above, NYP's Talent Acquisition Department will send an email confirmation with specific details on the event. Confirmation emails will be sent by the end of March and will reserve your spot at the event."
Good Luck!!!!
Hello everyone! I just accepted a job offer at NYP Columbia Campus Im soooo happy, I still can't believe it
. My next steps are the background check, physical and pharm test. Can anyone give me more information about the pharm test? how many questions? can I use a calculator? what happens if I fail? I don't want to inform my current job about the job offer until I pass the pharm test...im so nervous :S
I'm not sure what unit you are going to but if it is like Cornell, on units where they require the dysrhythmia exam and the critical care exam it's just a placement test. If you get less than an 80 then you just have more classes to take during orientation. They forgot to give me those 2 exams for whatever reason, and so I just had to take the AACN dysrhythmia course and exams and am taking their critical care courses and exams as well. The one you need to pass is the pharm exam, but as I said, you have 2 chances to score an 80 and it isn't difficult. Good luck.
Hi everyone!
I applied to the April 2016 meet and greet for New Grad Nurses and have not heard back
I read through this conversation and was just wondering....
(1) When checking your application status after the interview did the staff position automatically show up or was it something you applied for after? I know some people said after the interviews they checked and there was another position on their profile besides the "Meet and Greet" one
(2) Did anyone get accepted a job at NYP who wasnt a top candidate and had to go to the meet and greet and then interview vs. skip the meet and greet?
Trying to gauge my chances of getting a job at NYP. Literally it has been my dream since i was 10 years old and im anxiously waiting.........

Congratulations on your offer! Are you a new grad or did you go to the experienced rn event? Also, how long did you hear back about the offer after your interview?

I don't think I had a 3.0 I don't remember putting in my gpa anywhere on the application. If you have experience in the field you definitely have a chance. I was on my schools nsna, I volunteered a lot in the emergency room/medical mission trips, and I had my cna license and all of those things helped me get the job.
