New York Presbyterian/Columbia (NYP Email) New Grad

Published

I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.

Thank you!

Nothing here yet, the actual interview event date is april 27th, so it's close, but I suppose they still have time to sort things out.

Hi. From reading this thread it sounds like people are hired on a rolling bases (as positions become available) and begin orientation at different times. Maybe you can try contacting HR for an update on your status. Best of luck!

You'll have about 1 month to take the exam and it is very straight forward. I wouldn't stress! If you need the pharm study guide you can PM me :)

Hi, All.

I spoke to human resources and was told future consideration places us on a waiting list. Though you maybe listed for a speciality you can interview for a smilie department. Example, if you interviewed for surgical ICU, you can can be selected for burn, medical, surgical ICU. Also, we have to interview one more time with the nurse manager for the department you are selected for. I was also told some people are called after two weeks while others maybe called after 6 months so it's all a waiting game. Depending on which patient care director you met with on June 9 or June 16, determines if you end up at the Cornell, Columbia and Lower Manhattan campus.

Thanks, i have better undertanding of the process
