I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.
Thank you!
Just wondering - are you a new grad or do you have prior experience??
Oh sorry, I didn't mean situational in that sense; I don't think they'll ask something like that especially if you're a new grad. It might be different if you're very experienced and applying to a very specialized unit though. I've gotten questions in the past like, "when was a time you saw a coworker do something wrong and what did you do?" "describe an ethical situation you experienced" "What was a time you made a mistake in a clinical setting and how did you handle it?" etc. From what I've heard the pharm exam isn't bad, just review and you should be fine!
Thanks for your feedback! I noticed when I log in it says undr actions "continue application" or "withdraw". Does it say the same for you? I have completed the application and taken the battery test, so I am not sure why it says to continue. Thanks!
I'm in the same boat, still playing the waiting game.
Did anyone get a position at NYP with a GPA below a 3.0. I used on be on the Deans list at a previous school, and transferred in to the nursing program that I am currently in and should graduate with a 3.9. I work fulltime for the past 2.5 years as a nursing assistant where I do phlebotomy, EKGs and basic patient care. Do I have a chance at this?

Thank you for your response!! What type of situational questions do you think they ask? Could you give me an example? Ive been on glassdoor.com and the people have only mentioned behavior questions like "describe a time you had a difficult patient", etc, but nothing like a patient comes in with heart failure what would you do......Now I'm nervous!!!
Also, any tips regarding the pharm exam? is it really hard?
