New York Presbyterian/Columbia (NYP Email) New Grad

Published

I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.

Thank you!

So I randomly happened to see this posting, but I received an email this afternoon inviting me to the interview event. So just wanted to let y'all know so you can check your emails!

I received an email from NYP this morning. Keep checking your email.

I just received my email as of 11:13am inviting me. Congrats everyone!

Does anyone know if NYP has their own transplant unit? I have an appointment at 9:20am for that unit and an OR interview at 11.

I work at Columbia as an NA (graduating next year). Yes, we have two dedicated transplant units (one is basically an extension of the other). There are also pre/post transplant patients on other units as well.

Good luck!

I also received an email from NYP yesterday afternoon. They have identified me as a "top new grad" and I am scheduled for two interviews. Keep checking your email guys, good luck!

I received an invite yesterday as well. Good luck everyone!

Hey,

I was just wondering what units everyone is interviewing for.. I have three one for the float pool, cardiothoracic step-down, and talent acquisition. I noticed this was all day so does anyone know what else we are doing throughout the day? What types of questions will they be asking other than standard interview questions? Is it a group interview or individual? If anyone has any info that would help please let me know! Thanks!

@RMARIEE hey.. which location is the cardiothoracic step-down for?

Is anyone else from out-of-state? I'll be riding the train into NYC, I think HR scheduled my interviews later in the day to give me enough time to get to NY. My train will arrive pretty early and will leave pretty late. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what to do in the city to help pass the time. I am meeting up with a few friends already living and working in Manhattan after my interviews. I was thinking maybe tour Columbia University pre-interviews and maybe some type of restaurant in lower Manhattan post-interview. So if anyone knows of any must go to restaurant please share!

hey, congrats on getting the job. how long is the orientation and what is the nurse patient ratio on a med surg floor? Thank you
