Hello everyone:

I sent my application for Pace University earlier this year for the acc BSN program and I am still waiting for an answer as to whether or not I have been accepted. Is anyone else also waiting on an answer from Pace, or has anyone received an answer? I would also like some feedback from anyone who graduated from the program..how long did it take for you and receive a decision letter and what are your opinions about the program?

wow, WSmith16! thanks...I didn't know it was that serious..I have two friends that got their BSNs from LIU, and they never mentioned the possibility of waiting lists

NYDreamer...don't tell me you are having a 2nd thought about it....this time you got in...next time...you might not be that lucky...

Oh, no...I'm not crazy! As hard as it is to get into a nursing program?! Please!....I'm holding onto this spot! I'm actually going to speak to an advisor on monday to find out how many credits they have accepted...I'm anxious to know how soon I will be able to finish the general education courses and start the actual nursing classes

well today I went and registered at LIU for the summer and fall...they evaluated my transfer credits and provided I passed the 10 classes I still need, I will be able to start the nursing sequence NEXT FALL....I'm excited!

Good for you !! That is good news.

Now you know the path for the next few years and you are on your way!! That is exiting.

I am going to call them right now to set up an appointment to check my credits. I know I have at least one semester before the nursing courses, and I'll definitly will be in philosophy( :o ) and Organic/Biochem this fall, and then some...

Do you know if you have to do a placement test?

they did not make me take a placement test, and I'm guessing it's becauuse I came in with a bach degree already...plus, I had many english and math classes under my belt, including calculus...It wouldnt make sense to have me take a basic math class again

NYDreamer...Study hard...make me proud!

I can't wait to see you becoming one of my co-workers in the ICU.

Good luck!

thanks...and the ICU is one area I'm interested in...these 3 years will go by very fast (I hope) :uhoh21:

Hi Everyone,

I am currently finishing the CDP program at Pace in Pleasantville, so I can give you all the details you want.

Let me know.

Also, I plan to move to work and will be moving out of my apartment. I have a one bedroom in a houseshare with 3 other people. One of them is another nursing student at Pace. The rent is $417 a month and it's a huge house with a large family room, kitchen, washer/dryer, etc. If anyone is planning to move to the area to begin the nursing program and is interested in looking at the house email me. A former nursing student passed the room on to me and I saved soooo much money!!

Hi,

Can you tell me a little bit more about your experience at PACE? How is the full time program? I understand it is during the daytime but are there any evening classes? In your opinion, is it possible to work while completing this program, or is the work load at the university too much? I would appreciate any insight that you may have.

Thank you~

I am new at this ALLNurses.com and I have been reading up on your posts about the PACE CDP program.

Regarding the teachers: Did they show any passion in teaching?

Regarding the tests: So you would say, I would have to also read up other subjects that the teacher doesn't go over in class?

Regarding the Clinicals: Do we get to choose our instructors?

What would your advice be for me regarding this program? What should I be ready for or prepare myself to do this 1 year program?

I hope someone can help me out. Thanks.

Although you still need more classes to complete at LIU, you can do those pre reqs at a CUNY school which is much cheaper. Also they accept up to 30 credits in CLEP and DSST credits. Maybe you can complete them at those schools and apply to other ACC programs while your in school.

Hey everyone!

I just got an acceptance package from Pace today for the combined BS/MS program! Very excited. Did not know it was ranked #9 in the nation for FNPs. Impressive I must say. Anyways, I have until the 6th of May to give a response and I would really like some input from alumni or others that may know anything.

Where do we practice clinicals? Did you enjoy the program? Are you glad that you chose to go to Pace or was it way too disorganized? PLEASE give me input! I may choose to defer acceptance just to see what else is out there....still waiting on NYU....I am not in too much of a rush to get nursing school over with. But Pace is definitely a great choice.

please respond with your experience or input! anyone!

thanks! addie
