  1. I just want to pass
  2. I spoke with the admissions adviser yesterday at my school. She said they have plenty of seats open for January. Its also 1st come 1st serve. If you recieve a C or lower in A&P, you can take Excelsior challenge test, any passing grade and they will accept. There are many BMCC former students there. My only recommendation is that your work schedule had a impact that didn't allow you to get good grades. When you get into the Nursing program, make changes before you start. Nursing school is 10 times harder and there is no forgiveness. Don't give up
  3. After reading all these high GPA, I don't know how I made it in the accelerated program. My school is a 2 yr ADN, however if you apply and get selected for the summer, you'll finish in 16 months. I got chosen. I only had a 3.0, 24 student was selected and I was number 24. Nobody wanted to go to school during the summer. I would of easily got kick out the program. Anyother person who would of apply would have took my spot. Now everybody who didn't apply wish they would of applied. Whats awesome about the summer is, nobody out of 10 yrs never failed the course during the summer. Nobody is going to fail this summer also.
  4. When I called the school, the recording mention that its not accepting application at this time, the 1st semester starts in Sept.09. Remember one thing about CUNY schools, you must go there a semester before you enter the nursing program.
  5. I have a few friends who went to NASNA meeting. There were many Representative from different hospitals. Talking about networking, although they haven't finish yet, they'll remember you. That is what happen at the meetings last summer. Some of them got jobs for extern ships because of networking, some got calls 4 to 3 months early for jobs offers when they graduate. It can't hurt, there are several of my classmates are going to a Meeting at Mount Sinai for NASNA this Friday, the real reason there going because all of them want to start working there after they graduate this December. I say Go, get info, have fun, give us some salaries offer when you get back. I would like to know
  6. i'm happy that you went to school when it wasn't so difficult. now all cuny nursing programs are difficult to get in. suddenly in the past 3 to 4 yrs nursing school became difficult to get in. everyone is changing careers. now cuny schools is one of the most difficult schools to get in now. wow, you graduated with a bsn 5 yrs ago. i'm happy for you.
  7. For there RN to BSN, there is no waiting list. However for there traditional BSN, its not competive yet because hardly anyone is aware of it. The cuny school Hunter, everyone knows about it and its difficult to get in. So if anyone wants to try to get into a BSN program that is not expensive, now is the time to do so. I feel eventually it will be like Hunter, also then there will be a waiting list on there RN to BSN program.
  8. Do you know the requirements? Or where did you get your info, I was wondering do they have a brocher or something
  9. No worries, when I was going to school the next day, a fellow student who ride with me to clinicals also read my post. They explain to me what union hospital mean, in other words she was laughing the entire trip to clinicals that day. I'm happy I made you smile
  10. I'm doing my Clinical there now during the summer, I think the environment is awesome. But my clinical is in Pediatric right now, and I haven't been on a Med Surge floor. If the pay was higher and it was in NYC I most definitely would have apply to go there. They have every specialty you can think of there, it also a teaching hospital. They even have the nurses who bring Patients from helicopter. Like Wsmith16 said, you should find the salaried in the sticky
  11. I was calling York college to ask for info on there RN to BSN program. However to my surprise, on there phone message, they said that they're going to open a new program for those who want to become a nurse. It didn't say if it was a ADN or BSN program. It will start Sept. 09, but they are not accepting applications or inquiries at this time. But those who want to go there, it is usually one catch with cuny's schools. You usually need to go there a Semester before you start there nursing program. In other words, you need to transfer there this January. PS - have anyone heard of there RN to BSN program? is there a waiting list?
  12. There is about 8 or 9 cuny schools that don't require Biology to take A&P. Some of them may require one Chemistry course but you need that anyway. The only thing the Biology help you with if your applying to a PA program.
  13. Wow, where is Union Hospital, I'll gradatuate this December. $69k sounds good to me.
  14. I attend Cochran school of nursing in Yonkers, If all goes well. I'll be finish in Dec.08
  15. Are any of you EC grades are going to do your BSN through EC? I'm thinking that is one of the best ways to go.
