Adelphi Nursing Program Spring 2015 (not Path)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi so this is my first time posting, I am so glad to be apart of this community. :) I am trying to get into the Nursing Program at Adelphi University for spring 2015. I am on my last two Prereqs, Genetics and Pathophisiology. I also got all A's in the rest of the science prereqs. I have an associates in business administration which should according to the website, waive me of any general requirements... I am a little nervous because i got a D in Biology back in 06...I truly hope that doesnt affect their decision, I was young and had no sense of direction. I took the Teas twice... the first time i didnt pass the reading by 2 points :( but i tried again and passed all the sections yayy!! so now im in the waiting process.. They told me about 2-3 weeks and i am so nervous... My gpa is currently 3.3 at my school but with my previous grades im at a 3.0 I put all my eggs in one basket... I didnt apply to Hunter or Lehman mainly because even with all the A's I've gotten in the prereqs im still not anywhere near the gpa you need for those schools... maybe i should've i dont know :( Adelphi is so expensive but they seem so straight forward with all the things they require and i also didnt want to be wait-listed.. im 27 now and i feel like i wasted enough time...If anyone is applying for the spring 2015 semester or if you just have information please let me know i would really appreciate it... Thanks!!! :)

Hello! I am currently in Adelphi's BSN program. I know my experience is not the same as how yours will be, but I am having some issues there. Although the advisors try to help, they've sent me in the wrong direction, and it may cost me an extra year in the program. I know they seem organized through their website (I thought so too, and was so excited when I got accepted), they are very disorganized.

Again, your experience may be completely different than mine, but I wanted to at least give a heads up.

Good luck with it all!!

Hey hun thanks for replying :) I'm sorry you're experience isn't going as planned...what campus are you attending? What semester did you get in? I plan on going to the Manhattan campus if all works out...if you don't mind saying what did/didn't they do that you now may have to stay an extra year?

I am at the Garden City campus. I was accepted for Fall 2014. I met with the accelerated director in July, to enter PATH summer 2015. All was going well til I was informed a week ago that I have not been accepted to PATH yet, and would not find out until Spring 2015. (She had told me in August that my file would be reviewed soon thereafter - it hasn't been. It will be reviewed in Dec.) She also told me to NOT take a particular course right now because upon my acceptance to PATH, I would be taking it then. Upon speaking to my advisor, that class was mandatory and I cannot take any other courses until it is completed. So I have to be pushed back a semester to take this 1 course.

No one communicates there. And they told me it's just an "inconvenience." It's a lot more than an inconvenience. I was basically lied to by one person, and the other person doesn't care. It's upsetting.

Hey! I've applied to Adelphi for Spring 2016. I'm wondering of the applicants that were already accepted what your grades were like so I can get an idea of where I stand. Thanks!

I am willing to answer questions/help, I graduated from the PATH program this past August

Hello all, I wanted to know if anybody was applying to fall 2016 BSN program at Adelphi . If anyone that has went to this program can give me some insight how it is. Also the acceptance rate. Thank you

I LOVE Adelphi!!!! I graduated Dec 2015 from the Manhattan campus... I passed nclex first try with 87 questions in February 2016. My professors fully prepared me for the boards, even the sucky ones. The ATI comprehensive is also a good predictor for passing nclex. Study hard and anything is possible!

Hi, I know Adelphi has an accelerated program (PATH) for people who already have bachelor's degrees but I was wondering if they have a more decelerated program for people who already have a bachelors? Also for people who went through the PATH program did you find it to be too fast-paced or was the workload manageable? Thank you

I just finished Adelphi's program in December, passed my NCLEX, and received my license. If you have any questions about the program I'm happy to help!

Hi thank you for offering to do this! I was just wondering your overall thoughts on the program in general? Do you think that the program prepared you enough for your career? Were you on the Garden City campus or the Manhattan campus? Thank you!

Hi, I justr applied for the part time program in Manattha campus. Will love some insight on the program
