New Year's Baby

Published

The first baby born locally was born at our sister hospital at 4:05am. Pretty late according to that past few years.

So, how did your area do?

0001 at my hospital. Two others born at the same time in my state. So it was a three way tie.

Ours was born to a G11P9 methamphetemine user with all other children in CPS custody. They failed to mention that info on the news though.

That sucks!!! BIG TIME!!!:( Cases like these should be screaming mandatory permanent sterilization!!!!

Still waiting in our county!!! (Yeah, I live in the sticks of a rural county!!).

One year, the New Year's Baby was born to one of our L & D nurses!! :D Nice family, kid has a great home!!!

The first baby on our county was born in the county hospital downtown, generally known as the hospital where all the druggies and indigent patients go. I didn't see her interviewed on the news, although they usually do interview. She must not have been TV material. I think the paper said the baby was born at about 0030. They usually get the first baby because of their volume of births, though, unless someone schedules a C/Section fo midnight at one of the other hospitals. I've seen it happen! Some people will do anything to be on the news! :roll

Specializes in NICU.

We had a term, no distress FTP c-section delivered at 2357 on the 31st...

I thought, you know... couldn't the doctor just have waited until 0000 and 1 second? Why couldn't he have? You know? Hell, I wasn't at the delivery, maybe mom wanted a Decembre 31st baby.

We are still waiting for our 2003 baby, my niece is due with twins on the 15th and no others in sight so maybe she will be it. Our hospital is a 15 bed hospital in rural Kansas so there you go.

The parents probably begged him to deliver before midnight. "Welcome to the world, my beautiful little tax deduction!" :chuckle

If I had a nickel for every time I've actually heard that one....

Heather

Ours was at 02:30am. Usually it's earlier than that, but it was a slow night I was told.

OMG! People say it for REAL? Out loud?

Ew. Tacky. :o

Ours was at 0525. First in the county and outlying areas.

One year we had to wait for half the month before ours was born.

We are a small hospital also. :D
