Dear Tide: I'm writing to say what an excellent product you have! I've used it since the beginning of my married life, when my Mom told me it was the best. Now that I am older and going through menopause, I find it even better! In fact, about a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white blouse. My unfeeling and uncaring husband started to berate me about how clumsy I was and generally started becoming a pain in the neck. One thing led to another and I ended up with a lot of his blood on my white blouse. I tried to get the stain out using a bargain detergent, but it just wouldn't come out. After a quick trip to the supermarket, I purchased a bottle of liquid Tide with bleach alternative, and to my surprise and satisfaction, all of the stains came out! In fact, the stains came out so well, that when the detectives who came by yesterday told me that the DNA tests on my blouse were negative and then my attorney called and said that I would no longer be considered a suspect in the disappearance of my husband. What a relief! I thank you, once again, for having such a great product. Well, gotta go. I have to write a letter to the Hefty bag people... Signed, A relieved menopausal wife :rotfl:

Doulas can cost anywhere from free up to about $800 for major centers. I do at least 5-8 volunteer births a year for low income families and only charge $250 per birth and even then I barter and allow my clients to pay when they can.

After years of being a doula, I finally decided I need to go back and get my RPN diploma. I have to take a year of refresher classes :uhoh21: (sciences mostly) and then the 2yr program! Here's hoping in spring '07 I'll be working on the 'other' side of the room!!

Babies here are bathed at least 2-3hrs after birth, if not more. They stay in L&D until about 1.5hrs PP and then moved to the PP floor. There the nurse does a check over and then lets the PT know that the baby can be bathed whenever the PT wants.

Normally, there supposed to be two, but usually when I am in with a client, only one RN comes in.

My two were named way before birth (1st at 18wks, 2nd at 28wks) and both names are fitting. I loved having the nurse say' Welcome baby Ryan' when he was born :) Most of my clients either name their baby before birth, or within a few hours of their birth. I don't know of anyone who took their baby home un-named, but here it's possible.

Thank you Deb. I wish I had given birth at your hospital. It tears me up when I think about it, and some people don't think breastfeeding is a big deal, but they took the choice away from me. For my third, I will birth there again, but *I* will be calling the shots. They're actually thinking of implementing bands for the babies, so you can tell if they are breast/bottlefed much easier. Good idea? Possibly.

My 2nd DS was given a bottle in the nursery. He was rushed there after birth, and I was bedridden. However, I had told the NICU nurse and my PP nurse that I wanted to breastfeed, no nurse would take me down to see him They claimed that I should rest and that my BP was still too high to get up and walk around. He was born at 03:40, and I didn't get to see him until 10:30 when my Mom came and wheeled me down. I even asked for a pump, and they dismissed me. When I finally got him, he refused to latch on, even the LC freaked when she heard he was given bottles. I worked at trying to bf him for 2 weeks, and gave up too easily. Our hospital is supposed to be 'breastfeeding friendly'

I had complete previa with my second, and from week 18-28 pretty much laid around. I had a 13mo old at the time, and we spent lots of time on the couch and just laying around. I bled quite a bit in the beginning, but about 25wks, things got so much better. At my 28wk U/S everything looked great, the placenta had moved up as the uterus grew and I went on to have a lady partsl birth. I hope things work out for you, just rest, things will be just fine :)
