New Student Orientation

I was completely overwhelmed by all the information we had to take in but I really enjoyed the hour of small group we had. We had an hour to talk with one of our instructors and some 2nd semester students. They gave us some great advice. I am excited to start on the 12th but somewhat nervous too. Anyone else got pre-class jitters?

I am completely with you. My classes don't start until the 16th and I feel like it is the calm before the storm. I have never been so excited and nervous like this before in my life. Good Luck to you!

My classes won't start until the 17th, but I have a two day orientation to attend next tue & wed. I am getting really nervous too, especially after receiving over 200 pages of things I had to print to bring with me to orientation, Eek! I'm really excited about getting started though, but sadly I've already started to get canker sores from all the anxiety I've given myself over this. Once it starts I'm sure the jitters will go away, I hope they do for you too!

I remember my new student orientation. I, too, was incredibly overwhelmed. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew I was very excited and ready to start. In reality, nursing school isn't as bad as it seems right now. I'm sure that you must feel as though you will never make it through, but that isn't true. There will be times when it isn't easy, times when it is stressful, and times when it isn't even all that fun, but you will get through. It's all worth it, and you will be fine. Take a deep breath, prepare for that first class, and get ready for quite the ride. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress!

I just had my pre-semester orientation last Monday [January 2nd] ... needless to say, there was a lot of information! I am taking Drug Calc, Concepts, Skills and Pharm...13 credit hrs. Talking with someone at orientation, they took Concepts and Pharm last semester and said that they had no life! I know it is intense, but I am taking those and two more on top of that! I don't quite know what to expect, but guess I will find out on Monday [January 9th]! I have all sorts of feelings right now, excited, nervous, scared...
