Hey hey now....I never said Monster was 1000% safe (and really, what website really is??) But it worked for me and so I chose to share my positive experience with it. I just know that it cut my Job Search in half, because it would send me job openings in my area and recruiters would call me and I would research the positions prior to applying. I, for one, wouldn't be that desperate for a job overseas...especially if I had to send money.... that was OBVIOUSLY a scam. Should have seen that one coming lol.

I graduated May 14th and had a job offer mid-March. I have worked for this hospital as a tech for about a year and they like new grads. I went to school in central Illinois... it seems that people who are applying anywhere near Chicago are not finding jobs, but people who applied around here mostly have them. A lot of people also were offered jobs that were not their first choice in terms of specialty or location but accepted them since offers have been hard to come by!

It seems that the ongoing theme is enthusiasm, persistence, and not being picky. If you take what you are offered with gratitude and hard work you can move ahead from there. I will be graduating with no prior medical experience and am encouraged by the good news and advice I've read.

We used to live in Lawton in the 90's! We loved it there...the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge, Meers restaurant, etc...good times!
Gosh, I'm a new grad with no job yet...too bad I didn't still live there. Who's hiring there?

There is hope! Just landed a job in an ICU as a new graduate, will graduate in a few months.
try both comanche county memorial and southwest regional medical center. they are about 150-250 bed facilities. ccmh is very nice.

Good job on getting those jobs lined up! I recently graduated and got only one call back even though my app and resume have been out one week so far. This job was for a RN position at a LTC-post-acute unit, but I would only have one CNA and they expect me to take 10 pts a day with no LPN or other CNA on the floor. The pay is great because they want to hire one RN to do the work of 2! Not safe!!! Kansas really needs to adopt the whole nurse to patient ratio so people can be taken better care of. I really wanted a job too! Ugh. :grn:
