Well sort of...I have a BA in English, but missing a few pre-reqs (A&P and the like) so here I am, newly enrolled in the local community college and excited! I look forward to "meeting" all of you and learning from you while I'm gettting the pre-nursing classes done so that I can apply for the nursing program in a few semesters (I'm going part time while working).

Hi! I'm in a similar place. I have a BA in English, and a BS in English Ed. I'm starting at my cc in the fall with pre-reqs. I will only be able to take one or two at a time, so this might take me awhile.

I'm in a little worse place....I'm 48 with no college background.
I will be starting a local cc in the fall with courses in algebra, bio and chemistry. Because these weren't my strongest subjects in HS 30 years ago, I need to take them before entering the Nursing Program.
Oh well, here I go....back to school after 30 years. I'm a nervous wreck!

Right there with ya -- my first degree is in Music! In the Fall I'm taking A&P, Micro and Cell Biology. It's all pretty exciting, isn't it?

I'm in the same boat, only I haven't applyed to a CC in the area yet. I got my BA degree in Communications... and I have about 4 prereqs to complete. Can anyone tell me what the best way to go about applying to the Nursing program? Should I have 1 post-baccalorate school in mind, and take the prereqs JUST for that program? Any guidance will be appreciated! :) Thanks everyone!
Most prereqs are for all programs, but if there is one you prefer, I would make sure that you get the ones you need for it. Which area of the country do you live in? Is it super competitive? If it is, then definitely put your eggs in more than one basket, imho.
I am planning on going to a school in the Twin Cities (MN). The programs I am looking at are both pretty competative. One's a post-bac BSN and one's a MSN.. which have similar prereqs. The MSN program has higher level prerequisite courses (3XX level). The minimum GPA for both schools is a 3.0, but I know the GPA raises with competativeness, right? I am planning to get high grades in my prerequisites, but I don't want it to be a waste if I don't get into one program..
