Hello All!! I am a beginning Nursing student from Chicago :). Besides the stress I am currently feeling, I am excited all the same. I am loving it & I have recently watched a documentary about nurses that has renewed my enthusiasm for entering this wonderful field!! I would just like to say that whenever I need a word of advice, confidence, or a second opinion, I come to this site. You all are great & I am extremely happy to have found a nurse community like this, when those around you try to instill negative energy. Good luck with all you careers and/or schooling!! God Bless you all!!

just remember sometimes it aint all roses and butterflies when you're THE NURSE, no hiding behind the vail of saying "Well im just the student"..... Many of times Ive walked out of work asking my self why i ever chose to do this. Then other nights i feel totally accomplished. But good luck to you

Good luck in school...stick with it!
I'll be done with LPN school in June and taking boards. I'm enjoying the extra care that I can give to my patient on my clinical day on the floor. We, of course, assist with other patients, and I've heard that we will have more than 1 patient per day in our last quarter.
My question is, how overwhelmed was everybody when they actually got out there? Thanks!

Welcome to a very rewarding career. You will get out of it what you put in it.
Your day is what YOU make it.
Thank you all so much. Congrats on your acceptance into Nursing school and on your grades. Also, good luck with clinicals!! I am nervous about them, but also enthusiastic. I will try to keep myself grounded & realistic about the rest of my education and future career.

Hi SJ73201,
I'm curious what the name of the documentary was that you watched that renewed your enthusiasm. It sounds great - many of us could probably use it from time to time.
Congrats on starting your program!
