New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

My question is:

Does the NM Board of Nursing need a SSN at time of renewal of license?

What happens if you do not have your SSN at time of renewal?

Thanks

I should image if you have no SSN for renewal then your license becomes inactive until such time as you reactivate it once you have a SSN

Thank you for your reply Silverdragon. Appreciate.

Do you have any idea what what is the cost, process and documentation of re-activation is?

I think many non US residents with NCLEX via NM in 2006-7 and who have not gotten their EB3 visa by 2008-9 will face this problem of figuring out how to keep their licenses valid or alive till the visas are going to be issued in 2009 (hopefully).

So any more information on this topic would be appreciated by all those who are going to be affected.

Thanks & Regards

Vivek

I-140 can still be filed retro or no retro. However, during retrogression only packets 1-3 can be completed for consular processing while Adj. of Status cannot be filed for those who are currently in the U.S. via another visa.

Only proof of passing the NCLEX exam regardless of State is needed and not the license per se is needed per immigration requirements as States such as CA do not give a license for those w/o a US SSN as is proof of passing the CGFNS exam only is accepted as well to file for the I-140.

This is why people go the route pf NM and VT in the first place. They want to take the NCLEX ASAP and use the paper saying that they passed the NCLEX for teir lawyers to file for I-140 ASAP. They then either endorse to another State during the immigration process or just wait until they are in the US already then endorse depending on the State they are going to.

Hi Lawrence

Can you inform us about the following:

Suppose I have given the NCLEX via NM / VT BoN and wish to file for my I-40 upto packet 3 stage in 2007 then what is the process?

a. What is the process?

b. What is the cost?

c. What is the time line.

Also - which forum will discuss this in more detail.

thanks

Vivek

Once I140 is filed waiting time for approval depends on which service centre it has been filed with, you have no control, and average time at the moment is approx 6-12 months and then file is moved to NVC and they will not process further until visas are available

i emailed ms. vidaurri about this issue today and this was her reply:

so it is quite definite that CES is not a requirement but only optional, as it was previously.

hi there,

help please. i'm thinking of doing the CES route for NM licensure (since i'm planning to endorse my license to NJ in the future) instead of having them evaluate my transcripts and RLE. having said that, do i still need to let my school submit my credentials to the NM bon or will the CES suffice?

thank you so much!

Thanks for sharing astroboy... I just want to ask, is four (or five?) months waiting not enough for one to take NCLEX? Or maybe the reason for that is because there are no more slot at Pearsonvue. Are you working at the moment? Good luck on your exam on February. A big thanks again for sharing. :-)

can you share with us the exact words/reason why your fingerprint was rejected? this might help the others planning or in its way to document processing. Thanks. :-)

Does anyone tips of taking Nclex Rn exam for international Nurses Please? tank U

There is PLENTY in this website for NCLEX-RN preperation.

1. Use the search button.

2. Read up on the nclex forum.

It will take you 1-2 days to go over all the entries - but worth the read.

There is Susannes tips on Saunders - which I think you should follow.

for the 2nd tip - PM her,

This will take you 3 months.

Saunders will give you the base or the content.

Then you can practise on exam tips, by buying books such as Kaplans and practise. Other books have also been recommended and you can buy some of those as well - if you have the time and the inclination.

If you give it 4-5 months of dedicated effort - you will have the problem licked.

Best of Luck!!
