Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all!

I know it may be a bit early but I like to always get the ball rolling. Is there anyone that is looking to apply to the 2019-2020 accelerated nursing cohort at NJCU?? I'm looking to connect so we can keep each other updated throughout the process.

I just finished taking the Hesi today. Took about 3 hrs

Reading & Comprehension: 90%

Biology: 96%

Anatomy & Physiology: 92%

Grammer: 92%

Math: 98%

Vocabulary: 92%

Cumulative: 93.3%

Just need to finish personal statement and submit application for Jersey City Campus. My undergrad G.P.A at Rutgers New Brunswick was not great(2.56) from 2011 but my prerequisites are 4.0. I did get accepted for Rutgers A.B.S.N Summer 2019 cohort but I still want to see if NJCU responds back.

Congrats!!! How did you study?

Congrats on the score! ?

We are in a similar position. I was accepted into Rutgers NB’s Summer ABSN as well (just found out today) but also want to hear back from NJCU. I just have the essay portion left as well.

Family thinks I should return to RU due to familiarity with the campus and also a place to possibly stay (sister attends the medical school in Piscataway). But because I prepped this hard for NJCU’s application, I’d still like to hear back lol.

I bought a the Hesi Admission Assessment Exam Review book to go over the material. I also installed Hesi Pocket Prep app on my phone and went practiced questions on there. They do a pretty great job explaining incorrect answers. I spent most time on vocab,A&P,and Grammer. Then some time on Math and Bio. R&C I went over one passage in the book to give me an idea what the questions look like. I spent 2 weeks going over the material but bits at a time because I'm work 51 hrs a week Mon-Fri. I would say spend a good amount of time reviewing your A&P

I was looking at the class average (applicants for this cohort) that took the HESI, and this is what I found.

Math:85

A&P: 75

Biology: 80

Vocab: 85

Grammar: 85

Reading: 87

Cumulative: almost an 83

Anyone know how long itll take for NJCU to respond once an application is finished? Has anyone been accepted yet? I'm hoping to finish my application to NJCU by this Saturday and I've already been accepted to Rutgers Newark for the Summer 2019 cohort. I have until March 15th to accept. NJCU would start classes Fall which gives me some time to save money for while I'm in school. I just finished paying off over 100k in loans(high interest rates,6 yr program) since graduating Rutgers back in 2011 and if I could pay a chunk of the ABSN tuition with saved money instead of taking out more loans then I'd rather do that.

I heard this program doesn’t reply back until sometime in April.. to be safe I would accept Rutgers’ admission offer because there is still that chance NJCU could deny, and you don’t want to be out of luck.

Either way, you’re on your way to becoming a nurse! Congrats ?

Hi everyone!

So I received my acceptance letter today for the Wall cohort! I am really excited, but also concerned about financial aid. Does anyone know how it works for the summer semester?

Goodluck everyone!

Congrats Amleigh!! I just checked and Unfortunately I was placed on the waitlist ;(

Anyone out there have a success story about being waitlisted and actually being called for a spot?

Congrats Amleigh! I also received my acceptance to the Wall cohort! I am so excited. I plan on calling financial aid to ask some questions. I heard it is difficult for the May start because of the FAFSA deadline.

congrats you guys! i also just received my acceptance as well to the wall 2019 cohort!! i am still waiting to hear back from rutgers as these are both my number one choices... i am also going to call financial aid because i have he same concerns regarding the may start date.
