Hi all!
I know it may be a bit early but I like to always get the ball rolling. Is there anyone that is looking to apply to the 2019-2020 accelerated nursing cohort at NJCU?? I'm looking to connect so we can keep each other updated throughout the process.
Hey everyone, I received my acceptance last night as well! Due to a family emergency in March, I wasn't able to get out as many applications as I would have liked, but I was still accepted to NJCU and Caldwell! Does anyone know enough about the two programs to give me some insight on differences? I'm not from NJ so I don't know much about other schools. They're pretty different in terms of length, price, etc. so I want to make sure I have enough information to make a good decision.

I can only speak as a current NJCU ABSN student at the Jersey City campus. NJCU's program is 12 months (although it's realistically 10 months, if you include your breaks). It is the shortest ABSN in the state, that I know of. However, there are currently talks among the faculty of lengthening it to 16 months in the future. The price will be around 32-33k. You will likely have to take out about 1/3 in private loans, with the other 2/3s through FAFSA. Clinicals can be up to an hour away from campus, and you MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE or CARPOOL. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks!
The e-mail that will be most important for you all that this moment will be Ms. Samantha Younker (affectionately called Sam). She is the Accelerated BSN Program Assistant to Dr. Shanda Johnson (who is the coordinator of the ABSN program). Here is her info:
Office: Rossey Hall 405 H
E-mail: [email protected]

This is a great idea to get everyone together. I did the same thing for our current cohort (which I am still the admin for). Another thing we also did was to set up a GroupMe chat. You'll really get to know each other during the next year. ?
Also, you may want to consider also creating a shared Google Drive account (which is what we also did) to share files, e-textbooks, and other resources with each other. Remember, you're all in this TOGETHER.

Sadly I thought to apply at last minute so I was only able to squeeze NJCU & URSON . And the decisions were supposed to be done for latter but we supposedly won’t hear back til late May / early June.
