New Jersey City University (NJCU) Accelerated Nursing 2019

Published

Hi all!

I know it may be a bit early but I like to always get the ball rolling. Is there anyone that is looking to apply to the 2019-2020 accelerated nursing cohort at NJCU?? I'm looking to connect so we can keep each other updated throughout the process.

I'm so disappointed in NJCU, especially since we have not heard anything from them since April 15th. I would think today would be the latest considering many school deposits are due today. It is so inconsiderate.

What's more frustrating is that they basically said don't bother us until you receive an update.

Just got an email guys! At 12:25AM

hope everyone hears soon

Same! Just got an email!

Good luck to everyone!

Same! OMG FInally! Good luck y'all! Prayers up.

I got an email I wasn’t offered a spot. I figured though.

Me neither :(

Me too. I was hoping for the best, at least get on the waiting list. But no offer which I’m shocked. I got straight As in all prerequisites, 85 on the HESI, over 6 years experience volunteering and working in hospitals and outpatient facilities, and amazing recommendations. My undergrad GPA in Bio was under a 3.0 but I thought with everything else they would’ve considered. Must’ve been a competitive batch.

Yeah I honestly feel like they only took those who had 90+ on HESI, higher undergrad GPA and all A prereqs. If not then there was no consideration even for the waitlist. I had an 88 on my HESI and had a little over a 3.0 for a GPA, recommendations and experience that are very unique and I take pride in and my essay I worked on over a few weeks and spent numerous hours in the writing center trying to make it the best it could be but my down fall were 2 of my prereqs. So if you lack in one category you’re out it seems ?

This is the email that I have received and I believe it is a template they send out to everyone

Dear

The Accelerated BSN Admission Committee has completed a thorough review of your application. While your background and accomplishments are to be commended, due to the volume and competitiveness of the applicants for the 2019 Jersey City cohort, we are unable to offer you admission to the program at this time. The ABSN Admission Committee is unable to disclose specific feedback on the admission decision.

Thank you for your interest in the New Jersey City University Accelerated BSN program and best wishes with all of your future educational endeavors.

Very truly yours,

Nursing Department Admission Committee “

Yeh I got that same email. I don’t even know if I should bother reapplying next year. If I retake the HESI and get over 90+, I can’t change my undergrad GPA. So I’m not sure it would be worth it considering the amount of people applying.

Hello,

I've literally been stalking this forum for months now. I just received an acceptance letter about an hour and a half ago. I don't know how to feel, I did not think I was going to get in. I'm FREAKING out. I live in California I have no idea what to expect. To all those currently in the program or have gone through the program, what do you think?? Was this program everything you could ask for?? This was the only school I applied to, I was planning on applying to more during october, but I'm wondering if I should just stick to this or if this program fosters a lot of graduates who have succeeded and gotten great jobs afterwards... ahhhhh please let me know!!!
