New grads starting at Washington Hospital Center

Published

Are there any other new grad RNs starting at Washington Hospital Center in the February Residency program? What speciality area would you be working in? Would also be great to hear feedback from RNs who started there recently or who have worked there for a while. I'm super excited to start!!!

Hello,

I am interested in applying for jobs at Washington Hospital. For those of you who have landed a job there, do you have any suggestions of what I can do to make my application stronger? Also, what is the starting pay for a new grad there? Thanks a bunch! :)

Hi Everybody,

I just got a call early this morning for an interview!! I am really excited. I wanted to ask what type of questions you were asked during the interview? Any information would help b/c it is my first interview and I do not know what to expect. Thank you!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to followup with WHC. Last semester when I applied I called HR, and they told me they would call me. Obv. didn't get a job and am trying again. I know they are getting thousands of applicants, but if anyone got their interview by following up or has any suggestions, please let me know... thanks.

Does anyone know if they are going to be hiring in the Women's/Children's Services (OB, NICU, Post-partum) for the April or July groups? I keep checking their website and they only have Cardiac and Medical RN Residencies listed...

hey im just wondering what the starting wage at WHC is for new grad nurses? I had read $24/hour somewhere.... It seems kind of low, considering housing is so expensive. If anybody feels comfortable sharing their starting wage (or a range) with me I would appreciate it. Thanks, and congrats to all who recently got jobs;)

The starting pay for new graduates is $27.673/hr on day shift, with 10% evening and 15% night differentials when working a rotating shift. The hospital operates under a collective bargaining agreement with the union Nurses United. The current contract expires this April, so I don't know what the pay will be when the next residency program starts. If you are interested in reading the collective bargaining agreement, you can download it from the union's website:

Hello I was wondering what to do if I need to get 2 letters of recommendations even if I apply to a job that isnt part of those intense residency programs, but still a entry level RN position?

Congrats on the jobs/interviews! I graduate in May and have been trying to get someone from WHC by phone or email to get some info on the RN residency program, but have been unsuccessful. Do I apply for a certain unit? I just see one posting on the website, do I just address my interest areas in my cover letter? And who do I address my cover letter to? Any help would be much appreciated!

Does anyone have an email address for WHC recruitment??

thanks!

stace- I never could find an email address or get in touch with anyone on the phone and I've been trying for weeks. I finally just applied.

Hey everyone. I know that many of you on here have been working as nurses at WHC from your posts. Can anyone shed a light on what it's like there? Did you enjoy the new grad program? Do you like what you do? Would you recommend working there as a new nurse?

I applied to their new grad program that starts in July 2010 and was wondering how people like it. Thanks!
