New grads at Children's?
i had an interview mid april for a new graduate position in the emergency department @ children's hospital that would begin in augost. i called once a week and heard nothing, almost gave up but called up nurse recruitment who said that i should keep checking my email for a notification for an offer or rejection. during the interview, my nervous self forgot to ask about how to follow up and when a decision would be made. but from what i gather from this threads is that it does take a long time to hear back from them after interviews. so i was wondering: has anybody heard back from new grad interviews in the er for a position that would start in augost?

New grads at Children's?
Hey :) I did have the interview, it was easy except it was a panel interview with 3 people asking me questions. I think this made me more nervous and I felt that I didn't say everything about myself that I wanted to -like I forgot to say how I had IV experience as tech and that I am fluent in Spanish. Its been 2 weeks since the interview and I have not heard back from them, but Im praying and hoping that I will get the job. Yesturday I called them to follow up but the people I interviewed with were not there that day. I did have an offer somewhere else for a job but ER at children's is still my #1 choice. When I called yesterday, I did let them know this because I would need an answer before I turn down or take up this offer that I have now. Any suggestions on how to follow up? Thanks for the advice u posted here prior to the interview

New grads at Children's?
hi nurseabe2nd, i was told that 16 people were being screened before the interview which is monday next week. fairly simple, they just asked if i had an active license, and if i was aware that their hospital treats children exclusively. the person who called me was very nice, warm and welcoming. i know at least 4 other people will be interviewed on monday as well. i was wondering where you interviewed? any tips?

New grads at Children's?
Hello, I have been applying for new grad positions all over DC with little luck but I finally got a call from Children's Hospital to schedule a preliminary screening interview via telephone on Monday next week. I know at least 16 other applicants are going to be screened at this time for the purposes of narrowing down potential interview candidates. I was wondering if anybody else on this site would know what I should or could expect as far as questions and or if anybody else is going to be called as well? Im so nervous that I will be eliminated!! Any advice would be deeply appreciated :)

New Grad RN looking for job in DC, please help me!!
Hello, I graduated in January and on March 3 I passed my NCLEX-RN But unfortunately, I am finding it hard to get a job, because I only have an Associates Degree, and they all want Bachelor Degrees; and also because I don't have 2 letters of recommendations from clinical faculty members, and all these DC hospitals require it.... Unfortunately, I completed my RN program through an online distance bridge program where my clinical hours where really exams and I cant really get a traditional letter of recomendation. Does anybody have any suggestions? I am so eager to start working and I have LPN experience... Please offer me advice, if you have recently been dealing with this sort of job applications ext for entry level nursing.... I feel like I am spinning around in circles Thank you
