Are there any other new grad RNs starting at Washington Hospital Center in the February Residency program? What speciality area would you be working in? Would also be great to hear feedback from RNs who started there recently or who have worked there for a while. I'm super excited to start!!!
Hi everyone!
I read someone is asking about the endorsement? In my case, Im originally license in CA, i applied for endorsement on March 10.. I haven't received my RN license card yet, good thing is checked my application of status online and they already issued me a license, isuued date is April 23.. Im still waiting for them to mail me my license card.
I just applied today for July 2010 RN residency.hm,,, i really hope they will consider my application.I hope I'm not too late...
I just wonder how long does it take for the HR or Nurse Recruiter to contact someone who is invited for an interview?
stef22 - I applied on friday (11) and received an interview via email today, so I think the turn around is pretty fast, and I also don't particularly think you are too late, although the latest interview date for the July batch is the 25 I believe. They send an email when they receive your application with possible dates you might be selected for.
I'm interviewing the 23, wish me luck, and gl to all of you!
charmedj7,
Hi! thanks for ur repply, i also got their email and im about to choose 23rd as well... i just cant reply them yet because they're asking for this "final Nursing GPA"? what does it mean, I graduated in an accredited Nursing school out of the country, I have BSN degree... And our grading system is commulative,,, (88, 90, 95... those figures) I am not aware of this so called "GPA"
can someone pls help?..
thanks
GPA is how American and some Canadian schools do their marks, it's on a 4.0 scale with an A being a 4, an A- a 3.7, etc. It's sort of a strange system because different schools decide differently what an A is, ie, at some places it might be 90-100, at others 93-100, etc. I would put whatever your average is and then in parentheses note that your school was not on a 4.0 scale. I wouldn't worry overly much about it, they should understand that foreign grads might not have the same system. Good luck!
oh also, GPA stands for grade point average, so it's all your letter grades translated to a number between 1-4 then averaged out. There are companies and that which can 'translate' foreign transcripts to the American system for a fee, but I doubt it's really worth it unless you want to go to school here in which case they might make you do it. Does that make sense?
charmedj7,
thanks! i see... ok, i now understand... we're not made aware of that "GPA" ... I would have to reply back to them, and as far as i know, based on my trascript i could compute my general average ( our grading system is like 88, 90, 93 like figures.) maybe that will be ok with them...
i just wonder how long did it take for them to send you the confirmation for the interview?
i wish you goodluck! thanks again!
Sasi - I had to bring my official transcript and my CPR card. The nurse recruiter asked me if I had received my ATT and at that point I hadn't. You just have to make sure that everything is completed by 7/14 so don't worry if you don't have your ATT yet.
After I was offered a position, they made me complete bunch of forms online. Then they'll schedule for you to complete forms and a physical. I brought in my passport and 2 reference letters from clinical instructors. I signed the forms I completed online, signed up for parking, and signed up for direct deposit. Then you go get your physical where they'll collect urine, blood, and give you a PPD. Then you go get your picture taken for your employee ID. I have to go back today to get my PPD read.
