Hi Everyone, Im a foreign grad nurse considered as new grad here in the US. I've been applying for new grad progrmas in DC for 6 months but WHC, Children's and Sibley didn't even consider me for an interview. I widened my options and luckilly, Adventist Behavioral Health in Rockville interviewed me, and now I'm on the background check process. I'l be working as psych nurse in an acute care setting as what was said during the interview. Does anyone know anything about Adventist Behavioral in Rockville, or Adventist Healthcare? I dont want to be choosy, especially in times like this that DC hospitals seemingly are looking for something that my resume may not have, or should I say, there's a tough competition in the region. I'll greatly appreciate any info. Thanks

Hi evryone. For those who picked June 23rd as their interview date, did you already receive the confirmation letter? I haven't received it yet, im now nervous, I hope I'm not too late, because I just applied last tuesday. Im still hoping for the best... *sigh

charmedj7, thanks! i see... ok, i now understand... we're not made aware of that "GPA" ... I would have to reply back to them, and as far as i know, based on my trascript i could compute my general average ( our grading system is like 88, 90, 93 like figures.) maybe that will be ok with them... i just wonder how long did it take for them to send you the confirmation for the interview? i wish you goodluck! thanks again!

charmedj7, Hi! thanks for ur repply, i also got their email and im about to choose 23rd as well... i just cant reply them yet because they're asking for this "final Nursing GPA"? what does it mean, I graduated in an accredited Nursing school out of the country, I have BSN degree... And our grading system is commulative,,, (88, 90, 95... those figures) I am not aware of this so called "GPA" can someone pls help?.. thanks

Hi everyone! I read someone is asking about the endorsement? In my case, Im originally license in CA, i applied for endorsement on March 10.. I haven't received my RN license card yet, good thing is checked my application of status online and they already issued me a license, isuued date is April 23.. Im still waiting for them to mail me my license card. I just applied today for July 2010 RN residency.hm,,, i really hope they will consider my application.I hope I'm not too late... I just wonder how long does it take for the HR or Nurse Recruiter to contact someone who is invited for an interview?

Hi everyone, I just got my RN DC license last week, Im looking at Children's website and they say they have program for new grads. i searched for job openings but it always says that the minimum requirement is 1 yr experience... I wonder if the job opening for new grads are already filled up, i wonder if they dont accept new graduates applicants anymore? I would probably call the HR to check it. I really love to work in Children's ICU. Im a bit confused, for those new graduates who will be starting soon, what job opening did you apply for? ... Because all I can see in their website is RN II ( minimum experienc required -1 year) .. . i need help.... thanks!

hi suzanne... i appreciate it! but can you explain to me what do you really mean by ces? what do i need to do or submit... because as what ive read in washington brn, the nursing application packet for licensure by endorsement didn't mentioned any "ces" word... and ces is not even mentioned in their application instruction checklist and in additional information and instructions... it is stated in their website that they only requires : demographic information personal data questions professional education license in other state(s) or country(ies) other license aids education and training attestation applicant's attestation verification of rn license from your original state of license a copy of a current/active rn license testing: the state of washington requires you have passed the rn exam (nclex) within four tries in a two-year period of time, to be eligible for licensure in washington. internationally trained nurses: the state of washington requires your transcripts with degree listed on it, be sent from the school of nursing. (these must be translated to english and come from the school or another state board.) original license in california: the state of washington requires a degree/diploma in nursing from an approved school of nursing. the state of california allows individuals to challenge the rn exam. if you were originally licensed in california by exam and have not completed an rn degree/diploma, you will not be eligible for licensure in washington until a nursing degree is completed. where does ces come from?, and how can i acomplish it?

"wa requires that you complete the ces before they will even look at your application." well, if a licence had been already issued to me by california, and i want to be endorsed in washington, do you mean i still have to complete ces? i would just like to clarify, i believe what you had mentioned above is only true when you dont hold any rn license yet in any states...., as i've read in the list of requirements for licensure by endorsement, they didn't mention any ces requirement, rather, they only ask for a license from any state and others.... however, in terms of licensure by examination, they made mentioned of this ces requirement or cgfns! i would just like to make things clear... and thanks for your suggestion...

(These must be translated to English and come from the school or another state board.)" with this statement, im just wondering if i will be able to suffice that specific requirement because as what i know, the TRANSCRIPT from our school doesn't show the following information: (1) the hours of theory and days in clinical practice in Medical, Surgical, Obstetrics, Nursing of Children (Pediatrics) and Psychiatric Nursing. (2) course description. Though the RN licensure by endorsement in washington only stated TRANSCRIPT WITH DEGREE LISTED ON IT., it confuses me. will that be enough? or do i need to request my school a kind of transcript that also shows the hours of theory and days in clinical practice, and course description?

hi! if provided i passed the NCLEX and become a US RN licenced in California, and i want to have my first Registerd nurse job in washington, how can i do that? will it be possible? (because my husband and i will be staying in WA for good, and we least consider living in CA for now). i've heard about "endorsement" and it varies among states.. with regards to endorsing california US RN to Washington what are the considerations as well as most importantly, the time frame of each processes? thank you so much,, you're indeed a great help!
