New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

They will accept your papers if you are a ''new grad'' meaning qualified in the last 2 years without experience, otherwise you need 3 months experience in the past 5 years. The question is...what have you to offer an employer and Australian public? and will you be excepted by bridging programs?

Yes, that's right. Ohhh, that's sad. Why not try to get some experience now, its not too late.

Yes that's what im planning to do :) can we keep in touch? Just in case i might enrol at Deakin :) do you have relatives there?

hi*DreamMeansWork. ive seen your post on page 938 in response to yukishih. im just like you. i was a board passer of 2009 but i only had 1 year volunteer experience to be exact. i wonder if DEAKIN UNIVERSITY accept non-work experienced like us. iam really interested. tnx

Hello :) i think they do accept nurses without experience :) it's good for you, you have a year experience unlike me, i've got zero. Hahahaha :)

Hello sir.. :) really? You mean i can lodge my application to AHPRA right away?

That's what i have in mind too.. I do not have enough experience to offer my future employers..which also means my CV can be almost empty.. :(

Hmmm is it that tough to find a job after completing BP? If i can apply at AHPRA even without experience, do you think it's a good idea for me? Please enlighten me :)

Oh i see :) good for you :) you don't have much problem regarding accommodations and suchlike :)

thank you for your application forregistration as a registered nurse. the assessment is now complete and you are considered eligible for registration as a registered nurse in australia. it is anticipated that registration as a registered nurse will be granted when you attend the australian health practitioner regulation agency (ahpra) office and meet the ahpra proof of identity and criminal history requirements.under national law, the board has up to 90 days to consider an application. on this occasion, the board proposes to extend the period for considering your application past the 90 days to allow you time to meet outstanding requirements. the period of consideration is now extended to 10 june 2013, and unless you advise the board in writing within the next 10 days, it will be taken that you agree to the extension. it should be noted that, if the consideration time is not extended and the 90-day period expires prior to the board making a decision, in accordance with section 85 of the national law it will be taken to be a decision to refuse to register.information relating to proof of identity and criminal history requirements are published on the ahpra website:australian health practitioner regulation agency - home

please note that this assessment determination is valid for twelve months from the date of this letter as indicated above. after this time you must contact the ahpra office for further advice as you may be required to submit additional documentation to satisfy ahpra's requirements before registration is granted. for your information, once registration is granted you will be entitled to work in all states and territories of australia.

It's the letter of eligibility from Ahpra allowing you to finish a bridging course first before you can register as a nurse..

Yes it's one of the shools requirements when you apply for BP.. Hmmm there are a lot of schools to choose from, the website also have a list of the schools you can have your BP.. I think CON offers the cheapest for BP, i'm not so sure about that.. :)
