New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

my application was confirmed first week of February..after a month, i received a message indicating that my application has been escalated for final approval..last month, i was requested to submit additional documents..last week, they informed me that my application is for consideration by the registration committee..i'm just hoping that they release the final outcome soon..uhm, i think we're not allowed to post names..i also hope you get your LOA soon..=)

its actually a long time ago. it was in 2008 i guess. we are not in chummy terms really. we just say hi. it was our common friend who told me about it and convince me that we should do the same:)

her cousin on the other hand applied directly to the school and maybe i misunderstood it all the while. i thought BP=AHPRA registration so maybe he registered after he finished the BP. again, his BP lasted for 8months and he almost spent 800,000 php. thats y im having confusion now:(*

i wish you will pass it :) just have faith, God provides...

Ohhh :( that was long ago.. I think AHPRA wasn't that stringent before.. And almost every year, there are a lot of changes..

Hmmm i think you need to make sure if your friend's cousin really went BP or was it a nursing course.. Hmm from the way i understood, some shools before accepts students even without the letter from AHPRA.. But now, for you to apply for BP to schools, you need the LOE from AHPRA..

oh i see. thanks. i heard LOA's from WA are released by and by.. goodluck to us! BTW, are you from the Philippines?

thanks dream:)

which website?

registering as a nurse is done after the BP? now im confused*:bluecry1:

what do we need to do to get the LOE?which form are we gonna fill out? :(

Hmmm to iron out your confusion, AHPRA is the registering body in australia..

If you wish to work in australia as a nurse, you need to register to them.. You need to submit all the requirements they need..

After lodging your application, you will be notified

that they got your application, about your case manager etc.. Your case manager will then inform you or ask you about other documents that you need to send..

All documents will be assessed..

After which, you just need to wait..

We will all then wait for the LOE stating that we need to finish a BP course before registering,, or for some, they don't need to undergo BP.

Schools who offer BP require the LOE from AHPRA before we can enrol to their BP course.

BP is the bridging program, which usually lasts about 2-3 months.. They say bp will orient us about australia health care system and etc.

After successfully completing BP, the result, if im not mistaken will be submitted to AHPRA and by then if you were successful, you can apply for registration to AHPRA. Then you will be RN Division 1..

Try to check their website.. Everything you need to know is there :)

Hope it helped :)
