Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

They have a quote for me lower than that but im a bit unsure because i might pay additional when i get there. The said 12,800 per trimester. Is that good for 1 sem only? Thanks!
Yes i think that rate is good for one sem only.. How did you apply? Did you apply online?if you don't mind me asking, Are you Filipino? :)

Yes, I applied online and I'm a Filipino. OMG, its way to expensive. If ill have to study for a year then I will have to pay additional fee for next sem then.

Im a Filipino too! But i'm a recent board passer :) do you have hospital experience? Yes i think you will need to pay more or less 25k for 1 year.. I wanted to go to DEAKIN too.. What can you say about your online application? :)

I have more than a year volunteer exp and about 5-6 mos private duty nurse experience. Online appliacation was fast and convenient for me plus I dont have to pay their application fee if you will file it via mail. Try applying with them. When do you plan to enroll in the course?

Yes i've read that part in their website.. :) i'm just not so sure about the credentials i need to submit for their credit system.. How did you do it? I believe it's not just our transcripts and course descriptions that need to be passed right?
Hmmm don't you want to go with the BP? If i can only apply at AHPRA without experience, i would :)
Hmmm applying at Deakin is part of my plan B.. Buh if we can find a way to gather enough money for a 1 year course, then i would enrol right away :)
hello forumers. after a week of anxiety and frustration, my visa arrived through courier without a warning. i was expecting that my case officer will ask me to mail my passport which would take another week, but no! it is now in my possession, all four pages of it. upon lodging my application i was instructed to submit a photocopy of my passport, and over the weeks i was puzzled why they never asked for the original. so to all those who are still waiting, the embassy might issue a label-free visa. ("The Australian Government does not require you to have a visa label placed into your passport for travel to Australia.")God Bless to all of you. :w00t:RocknRoll!
Congratulations cheskaval121!!
Are you by any chance in the Philippines? If you are, I suggest that you still undergo visa evidencing/stamping on your passport as the immigration area in the airport can be very tedious (more like suspicious) when it comes to fellow countrymen departing for abroad.

I submitted everything. Im not confident with my experience that's why I opted for this program. Try to file in APHRA, there are some applicants with zero experience and was granted LOE. From previous post schools who offers bp requires experience. Give it a try. I submitted tor,rle grades apart from tor, course description, prc lic, cert of good standing, board cert, ielts result, cert of employment, curriculum vitae. Others are basic requirements for identification like bc, passport copy.
hi, new here. hope someone can guide me through this. my mother told me that i could go to AU and be a nurse there provided that i study. She got the idea from a friend.so i stumble in this thread [which i want to say, a mighty thank you to the creator and all of its posters ^^ it helped me a lot. very informativealso like the apple and orange story
] and had read up till page100 and skip to 900.
i might consider this opportunity. But the thing is, i'm not so sure actually because
first, financial status not so good.
well actually my mother is saying that she would borrow money from my aunts, which is kinda ok buy my real concern is if i would be able to repay the debt while/after i take the BP.[i don't like having debt .]
Yes xxxl, rest assured that as a practising RN in Australia you will be able to reimburse your investors with every penny they are going to loan to you. :)

What's holding me back is the amount of money that might go to waste when i apply to AHPRA without any experience.. Because it is clearly stated in their website about the experience that the NMBA requires.. I think those who were granted LOE were the ones who applied 3-4 years back?? AHPRA's quite stringent nowadayss im afraid they will not accept my papers??
You're applying for bachelor in nursing at Deakin right? So all you need to complete is two sem? That's good :)

Yes, that's right. Ohhh, that's sad. Why not try to get some experience now, its not too late.
Hello :) we're on the same boat.. Im a recent passer december 2011.. :) i believe AHPRA requires atleast 3 months hospital experience (paid or unpaid) they also require an ielts of 7 in all bands..Do you know about credit prior learning system of some Uni in australia? You can enrol in their school as a graduate entry and they would assess your qualifications.. If you are eligible, the normal 3 years that you need to complete for your course (bachelor of nursing) can be cut by 1 to 1 1/2 year depending on the credit points you get.. If your mother really wanted you to study and granting that you do not have experience at all and she can afford to send you to university, why not? you might as well try your luck? :)
However, you must take into consideration the tuition fees :) BP for 3 months costs 10k-14k..
Bachelor of nursing costs 11k-14k per sem and you need to complete atleast 4 sems :)
Yes some universities offer sholarships and you can apply for that, just check out their websites :)
If you're not in a hurry, why don't you gain some experience first and then lodge your application to ahpra and see how it goes.. If your unsuccessful (knockwood) then you can opt to study instead of doing the BP :)
hi*DreamMeansWork. ive seen your post on page 938 in response to yukishih. im just like you. i was a board passer of 2009 but i only had 1 year volunteer experience to be exact. i wonder if DEAKIN UNIVERSITY accept non-work experienced like us. iam really interested. tnx
