New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Nah, not in NZ lol... It was my first time to post here few days ago. Yep I need a lot of luck for that interview, thank you. I prefer MHTI, having their own training facility would be an advantage in my opinion and I prefer Melbourne. I just emailed IHNA today asking if I can submit the required docs and fee next week. And if I can squeeze in for 25 June intake in Melbourne LOL! Well, who knows? So have you started the e-learning yet? How was it?

oh ok! are you in AUS now or in RP? i wanted to apply before in MHTI but i heard that they only accept a few applicants in their roster, so there.

has IHNA replied to you already? i hope you get the slot in MHTI though they should reply to you the soonest since your IHNA has a deadline as well. I'm not sure if IHNA still has slots for the June 25 intake. I believe cheska will be there. and don't forget that visa processing is usually 2 weeks, ok?

i haven't started the e-course yet. i'm still collecting the needed funds. will be emailing ihna to give me an extension for the payment of 1500 if i still don't have my money yet till next week (next week is my 2nd week to provide them the initial fee).

good luck to you! keep us posted :)

to those who have already done their vaccination, is it okay to just have serologies for MMR and chicken pox?

I'm in Oz. MHTI already scheduled me last week for an interview this Thursday that's why I can't decide at the moment for IHNA. They are waiting for my confirmation. Hoping for the best. So you're for June 25 intake Melbourne? Hmmmm you better be quick in paying or else they might be giving me your slot LOL :p

What is the usual processing time in AHPRA-WA? I lodged my application in March. And while waiting, my IELTS expired. Would they still reconsider?

Um I have a question about the minimum year/s of experience required to apply for the bridging program in Australia? Weeks ago, I called a consultancy firm and said that it should be at least 1 year hospital experience. Then I called again today and the one who answered me said 2 years. I'm confused. And she said that they do accept volunteers as long as it says "Certificate of Employment."

For BP it should be at least 3 months only:)

hello. Anyone there bound for ETEA October 2012 intake. I am heading off to Australia this October. Please leave a comment ...Thanks...

How much is the tuition fee in ETEA?

Yes but that's as expensive as getting the shots:)

How much is the TF in MHTI?

thanks! :) i read that the minimum is only 3 months but it has to be two years first since you qualified so you are no longer seen as a new grad..i'm a bit confused there, it has only been a year since i graduated does it mean that it has to be 2 years first since i graduated even if i only have 3 months of practice? did i get it right?

thanks :)

No, as long as you have at least 3 months experience you're good to go even if you just graduated it doesn't matter. Apply as early as possible and try to talk to your managers about helping you out in regards to your COE:)

thanks to cheska :) can't reply to you thru PM yet because i'm really new here..haven't met the minimum posts for PM yet..but thanks a lot! :)
