Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

to all those applying for IHNA....for the record, you dont need the "Confirmation of Admission" for you to start with your visa application. According to *****, an IHNA admission officer, the letter of offer will suffice. in fact, my embassy case officer never requested for the COA. dont make the same mistake as i did by waiting 2 weeks for the COA. if i had known about this, i would have had my visa by now instead of constantly requesting IHNA for extension of visa deadline.
Hi cheskaval, I emailed ***** regarding the COA and she told me COA will be issue soon. So we can lodge the visa with the offer letter instead of waiting for the COA? Do we need to wait for the embassy to inform us to do the medical? Thanks!

that's right. hey, did you pay the 1500 already and if you did, did you pay thru online using their PAY ONLINE link?
i haven't paid yet coz i want to talk to ahpra first to ask if the transition on july 2012 will affect ihna's capability to provide BP. ihna's BP validity is dated sept 2011 and a transition will be done on july 2012 together with etea.
Hi kire, I waiting 6 months for my eligibility letter.. By the way, which state did you apply?
I applied in AHPRA-WA. How about you? Anyway, I am going to Sydney next month via student visa. Do I need to inform them ASAP regarding this? I don't know if it could fast track my application though.
yup, it's one of their requirements. if you have experience, try ihna, aaon. i got an offer letter from ihna already. 11500 inclusive of tuition fee and e-course
That's too more expensive. I'd rather wait with CON instead :) my friends who enrolled at the CON told me that BLS isn't required anymore.

They are currently having their bp at CON. My soft copy of LOE doesnt have the signature of the manager. Can i still send it with that since the hard copy isnt here yet?
Hello cummulus, paid already the 1500 AUD thru their pay online link. I have not heard about the transition thing. Are you also for august melbourne campus?
i kept calling ahpra but couldn't get thru. i still want to inquire about ihna's validity to provide BP despite the noted transition on july 1. this is why i still haven't paid.
when did you pass the interview and did you send them right away the confirmation of acceptance?
have you started with the e-course already? did you register online or thru hard copy and did they send you access to e-course how many days after payment?
so you used a Master/Visa Card and did not experience any probs? thanks thanks :)
yup, august melbourne. will you be there too? :)

Does CON require BLS? Where did you apply instead and how much is the tuition fee?
