New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi..Thank you for the info. I thought that I still need to wait for the confirmation of Admission before lodging my visa. Thanks a lot. I'm for august IHNA

IHNA guys!

have you inquired with AHPRA if the transition on July 1, 2012 will affect the eligibility of IHNA to provide BP to Overseas Nurses? the pdf in this link under the Internationally qualified RNs show the transition that may affect IHNA, ETEA:

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Approved Programs of Study

been calling ahpra but i can't get thru their line. please advise guys!

Hello,

I will also submit my documents to UNISA thru IDP office.

They will file your AHPRA after you finish your course, which takes 10 days to 2 weeks.

It is much faster since you are already in Australian.

Really? That's good to hear. Do you know anyone who has gone through the program already? Would you mind sending me you email address via PM since I cannot send PMs yet. :)

I see, so if I have an original birth certificate here, I wouldn't have to order online anymore cos it defeats the purpose right? I have 3 original birth certificates here so I can submit an original one. Correct? :-)

not exactly..you can find accommodations not within the school..they say its way cheaper, i am still looking for one now..keep me in your prayers so that i can update you guys..i am for the June intake and I am overwhelmed of the entire process

grasyosa anyway i hope you can find an accommodation when you get there. hope we get at least something like walking distance or 5 mins to 30 mins commute. :) im just wondering. you really are right that the accommodation @ school being expensive. im thinking about that but my only fear is where will they place us in our clinicals will it just be around Perth Area? I mean if I will make a bond now to rent should I go for 1 month only or 3 months? you know most offers 3 months minimum and if you choose 1 month. what if someone takes over the rent. btw are you in oz now or when will you go?

i hope it will be easy to find a place to stay for the clinicals. im will have to rent outside cos im afraid the expenses is too much if i go for their accommodation now.

for CON takers, is there any validity for the serology of MMR and varicella? like maximum 6 months upon blood exam date? do they have any required or recognized lab for that test here in the philippines or can we have those blood exams in any lab? thnks :)
