New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

It varies..My friend was advised to proceed with medicals the day after they confirmed receipt of docs..I hope they email you soon..From where are you by the way?

Hello grasyosa, I already received my medical request from the embassy and I'll have it done tomorrow. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. Btw, I'm from Cebu. Where did you have your medicals and when did they forward the results to the embassy? Thanks.

yes, AUD140. Pay thru manager's cheque in philippine currency. that's 6400pesos to be exact.

hello fellow nurses, I am scheduled for interview in IHNA nextweek and I am very anxious about the possible questions they will give. Is there anyone here who had already the interview for the bridging program? What are some of the questions? What should I do to impress them and get selected as one of their students? Thank you.

hello! in my case i was asked about the usual surgical cases performed at the hospital where i was employed. then the interviewer asked me to discuss immediate post op care. my next question was about meningitis - what it was and its management. lastly, i was asked to define bridging program. my interview lasted less than 10 minutes. good luck!

hey cheskaval121! thanks for this rep =) but have you lodged yours personally thru the Via Center? coz if you did, don't they have like extra charge for the SDP fee? i read from the website that they'll charge you of that when you go to the Via Center. So aside from the 140 App fee for the 456 Visa, i'm assuming there's another fee? or do they really have this? and how about the courier fee? thanks a lot =)

thanks cheskaval121! when your IELTS expired, did you experience another part of the process from AHPRA until permanent residency wherein you were asked to present a current IELTS result with a score of at least 7 in each band?

Sorry for the butt in, You cannot apply for a working visa and this includes the PR type visa's and long term business without a current english test of standard, IELTS 7 or the OET. The PR visa tallk about 6 IELTS but if your profession has IELTS 7 then thats what you must produce to get any work rights visa.

Cheskaval121 is yet to be a Registered Nurse in Australia.

hi..

can we apply for a working visa assuming we have ielts 7 all band and loe to undergo bridging from ncnz??

I only have some idea of Australian immigration not New Zealand.

I do know that you will have to be assessed by the New Zealand nursing council before you can think about anything else.

The NZcouncil on its website was warning applicants that there is difficulties getting into their bridging (CAPS) programs before their assessment letters lapsed in the 12 months.

Nurses for NZ seem to g via Australia lately as once registered in Australia there is no CAPS program to do for NZ just an Tran Tasman application, though you would still need to be legally able to seek work and work there. You may need to google the NZ immigration.

Get assessed for your nursing degree first:
