New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Specializes in renal department.
Mine was 4 pages, very brief, TOR.

The first 2 pages list all the subjects undertaken (including general education) with corresponding units and grade earned. The last 2 pages specifically list all the nursing-related subjects with brief descriptions, units and grade earned, then the number of theory/lecture and clinical hours.

I got my approval without any problems. But I guess that also depends on your case officer. Or if AHPRA is familiar with the school and have handled previous applications from these schools. I don't know.

thanks amnomad. im form FEU batch 2008. how about you? cause if we're from the same school i guess i wont be needing to send those bulky papers anymore :p

Would not be too confident, AHPRA started asking for more detailed course descriptions for the past 6 months due to descripancies, be prepared to submit everything.

Are there any vaccination/ immunization requirements for La Trobe University? I have been checking their website and couldn't find any. For those who are going for the May intake, please do verify. It is much appreciated!

Thanks in advance... God Bless!

how come their asking for an address in victoria? i happen to know someone who submitted hers in wa initially then requested that her application be transferred to victoria. her case officer then sent her files to vic without any additional requirements.

i actually heard it from my friend so that's why i emailed ahpra asking about the possibility of transferring my docs to another state (Victoria).but here's their reply....

"Please be advised that you are unable to lodge multiple applications in various States or Territories of Australia.

Your application is lodged in the New South Wales Office and therefore will be assessed in New South Wales unless you wish to have your file redirected to another State or Territory.

To request your file to be redirected you will be required to provide evidence of a local address for the State or Territory in which you wish to have your file transferred to. Please be advised that your file is unable to be redirected until such evidence has been provided (e.g. Original or Certified Bank Statement)."

But like what others are saying, just submit a more detailed one.

Hi everyone. My name is mike. Is there anyone here for 14 May 2012 intake at IHNA Melbourne? I was able to reserve a homestay which is a two bed room, just 10 minutes walk from IHNA at a minimal cost of 155AUD/wk.

hi. I also have the same issue on finances, so I signed up with Philman, took the ielts, submitted all the forms and received yesterday AHPRA's confirmation receipt of my documents.

For those preparing their docs, you may PM me how it was done although Philman staff helped me all the way in preparing them and got a lot of help from topics relevant here.

hi, jsut an input, what my school provided me was a summary of all subjects i took in the 4 years i was with them and opposite per subject was the number of hours and a brief summary of the subject. Even included the PE and Christian living subjects mandatory in our school.
