New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

In my case, I received my approval 10 days after the board meeting. The board meets once a month. And usually within 2 weeks of the board meeting, they will notify you of the outcome. (at least that's what AHPRA-ACT told me)
thanks for that information. however, im not really sure if they're done with the assessment. When I called AHPRA-WA they told me its still in the assessment stage but the answer through AHPRA website inquiry is different. So confusing! :(

Hi,m i am currently looking for agencies that offers a study now pay later plan for overseas nurses who aspires to work in australia as a nurse> any suggestions.. please=):nurse:

hi misslainern, do you have more than 1 year experience and at least 7 in all subtests in ielts

I've used the search function and I haven't really found much information about this. For those who did their BP on a student visa, do you actually have time to work 20 hours a week? Thanks!

according to the reps and the case officer i talked to, they are prioritizing applicants who are already in australia for the fact that they're easier to assess. so i asked the reps and even the case officer about my plan to visit my cousin and stay there for at least a month, and also to go to the ahpra office in nsw personally to prove my identity so they can fast track my application. all of the reps and even the officer told me that i can do that. all i have to do is to go to their office personally and present my documents and that's it. i would like to share to you the replies of my case officer about my application and tell me what you think about it.

1.) [color=#454545]confirming your documents have been received and your application is now waiting to be discussed by the reference group. as you are currently in australia could you present at the office in sydney with your passport, visa and two documents with your australian address to prove your identity and allow a criminal record check to be completed.

2.)the reference group will meet every tuesday and the board to approve their decision meets only once a month, so unfortunately it may not be finalised until june.

hi marklouiemarco,i was just wondering if it's fine with these ahpra people of just the idea of "showing up personally" in their office..or like, would they require you to present an australian address proving your identity as wat i have read in your "clause"..

cause me too,,am planning to visit sydney sumtime july in order to expedite my papers..been waiting for a w hile now..lodged my papers last december..
