Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

sledcrnhi guys im just a bit curious.. why is everybody applying for a 456 visa? why not student visa so we can work part time for 20 hrs a week? what are the disadvantages and advantages of both parties?:)"
type of visa required is greatly dependent on what school you are enrolled to.
our plan is to put some money in an account under my name. my problem is, would the case officer in the aus embassy be like suspicious on how I was able to raise the money considering my work and all? or my sources wouldn't really matter? If you have enough money in a bank account in your name, an affidavit/letter of support is not necessary. But if your parents or say relatives will be the one supporting you (the account is in their name), you need the affidavit of support.
about the official receipt of medical screen? i thought they will be the one who will give you the schedule of you medical exam which will be given after you apply for the visa? can you enlighten me with this one? thanks!this is my visa support letter from con: the letter like ey - em posted is the same letter i received after i was not selected for jan. intake.thank you for your application for assessment of competence program no. 120 which commences on january 30, 2012 and completes on march 23, 2012. a position for you in this program is contingent upon you furnishing the college of nursing with an appropriate visa 3 weeks prior to the scheduled commencement date. the visa must be valid for the entirety of the program.
if we do not receive your visa by 9 jan 2012 you will be placed onto the waiting list for the next available program.
about visa:
1. period that will cover your intake: 3 mos: example: my intake would be jan 30. but i want to be in asutralia by jan 25. so i will put jan 25 to april 25. (3 mos)
2. i did not gave a statutory declaration. i just answered all the questions, then submitted the paper works that is needed: here is the sample checklist of my application:
document checklist
1. visa 456 application form
2. visa application payment (managers cheque)
2. original and photocopy of passport
3. certified copy of official receipt of medical screen
4. certified copy of letter of offer from college of nursing
5. certified copy of proof of full payment for tuition fee
6. certified copy of ahpra letter of eligibility
7. certified copy of ielts test report
8. certified copy of bank certificate
9. letter of support with passport copy and certified copy of summary of payment
10. certified copy of certificate of employment
11. original nbi clearance and certified copy of no deragatory record from saudi
the letter of support is from my brother, aside from my bank statement (120k only). im not sure what to write about employemtn details, u should ask the experts on this eheheh. hope this helps: good luck!!

yes that's right, because in my case I did the medical first before I applied for a visa. Now, the embassy have a new rule that all applicants must apply for a visa first then they will give a go for the medical screen. Sorry to confuse you in this matter , I forgot to include it in my earlier post.

I'm really not sure. But from my experience with my previous student visa, the money must be in your account for at least 3 months. That means if in 3 months, the lowest balance in your account is say 10k pesos, the embassy would only consider that amount. I'm not sure if it's the same case with the 456 visa.

This is so helpful! Thank you for giving us an 'idea' for the bank statement, i.e. (show money). I could barely raise 1M. I was doubtful if I could ask help from my brother in the US to ask for letter of support and now I know that it is possible.
hi guys im just a bit curious.. why is everybody applying for a 456 visa? why not student visa so we can work part time for 20 hrs a week? what are the disadvantages and advantages of both parties? :)
I'm applying for a student visa.. though only selected bp schools accept a student visa. and these schools take their bp in 4 months, and they are almost fully booked for the year.. I selected it anyway since I can work part time (if I can still manage to) and so that I can extend or convert it to other visa without returning to the Phil.. :)
