New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hey guys, I'ma newbie but i have been following up this post in search for answers and clarifications on a lot of issues regarding bridging courses and AHPRA registration. Thank you ex extended to all "kababayan" who go out of their ways to share whatever information and experiences that they have had.

I have completed all my documents and submitted it to my agency for filing to AHPRA which they said was this week. I sure can do this on my own but the agency was able to provide a "fly now pay later scheme" which i grabbed since a nurse with a big family will not be able to produce the course fees when one will undergo the bridging program.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best for all of us so that we may all receive that wonderful email from AHPRA saying that our papers are already done. i really do hope it will be very very very soon.

by the way, as Iam unemployed at the moment, what do you think are best activities to be engaged in while waiting?

thanks to all

@jackfields: ur inbox is full, here's my reply...

nope, they will email you if they have received ur documents. Did u apply tru VIA or call center? If in call Center , u will just be receiving a text msg that your visa will be delivered to you. What u can do is try to call them if it has been dispatch already. Usually everyday they will receive the visa from embassy every 230pm and 5 pm. I've waited for more than 14 working days for my visa when it should just be 5-7 working days. If its more than 7 days, U can call the call center and ask for visa status, usually they will give u a text msg that it will be for dispatch. It will be expensive to call them every now and then, as they will just be saying the same thing if they havent recieved it yet. Or what you can do, If its more than 5-7 working days, You can email the embassy and ask about ur visa status.

go on duty, either hospital, clinic or private...at least your nursing experience gets more comprehensive... If it's really hard to find a nursing job, get any job that gives you a descent salary, so that you can add money to your funds for Aussie...

guys,, help me out here.. how to make request for transfer of papers from one state to another. i was trying to compose it because WA wants in to be in writing. so i just wrote that I would like to transfer it to SA. thats it? its a bit awkward to state the reason that they are taking too long right? so what should be stated in there? thanks

also will it be advisable for example that I will first transfer it to SA. then after a week ill provide them with a letter of offer from WA? or if the letter of offer is from WA ill just stick with it?

I'm really not sure. But from my experience with my previous student visa, the money must be in your account for at least 3 months. That means if in 3 months, the lowest balance in your account is say 10k pesos, the embassy would only consider that amount. I'm not sure if it's the same case with the 456 visa.

if you have a letter of support let say your parents, do you still need a bank account etc?

If your parents' funds are sufficient, you don't need to have your own. You just have to have the affidavit/letter of support.
