Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I didn't get one, nor am I planning to get one. Lol! Personally for me, I don't think I'll need it in a period of 3 months. But then again, it never hurts to be sure.I had health insurance when I was still in Sydney under a student visa but I never ever used it for medical purposes (never got sick or anything). Somehow, "nasasayangan ako sa money" but then again, it's a condition for every international student to have one so I can't complain. lol!
One of the forumers, who is now taking the intake in Con told me I don't need it, its not that necessary lol. Maybe I'll just be getting it in aus when the school will ask for it. you're right. (sayang) if were not be able to use it.
Thanks. How did you reply to your officer? Through the email that she sent? Theres a do not reply statement in the emali right? I want to contact my officer, how will i do that? Thanks a lot.uve been very helpfulthis is what happened to my application: first, I gave them my TOR and RLE. Then after that my case officer asked me to for mental health, adult nursing and subject with hours ( theory and clinical). I replied to her that we don't have specific subject for adult nursing as it is incorporated to all, I told her about funda and MS.. but still she was asking for those requirements, so I went to my school, told them that I am applying in australia and they are asking these requirements.. the lady in the office was kind enough to tell me that we have OTR ( TOR with hrs). then she told me to submit the course description of NCM 103/104 for mental health nursing and a course description of NCM105 for gerontology subject. she also gave me a separate course description for gerontology subject only. So i don't need to pass the course syllabus because I can get the course description per NCM subjects.
