New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hello. Has anyone had their visa approved without submitting an NBI clearance to the embassy? It's one of my problems right now coz I only got a police clearance.

hello guys...i'm new here and been reading this tread all day....just wondering where should i submit my application forms..i mean what APHRA state or teritory? Any suggestions....I know one -ACT...what are the rest? Thanks...hope for a reply...

The ones I know of are Queensland, WA, Victoria.. SA too, I think :)

Ychelle Anne..You need not come back to the Philippines anymore just apply to ahpra for assessment wait for your eligibility and apply for BP..While waiting for your eligibility apply for short courses like cert.in aged care 111 so you get a certificate and can earn higher pay..Then once your eligibility comes out enroll for BP and get your RN license.

I'm sorry. but based on experience, you dont get higher pay as RN even though you have cert in aged care. the only difference in RN pay is whether you have extensive previous work experience as RN or that you are going to be hired to work in a hospital or nursing home. hospitals pay more than nursing homes especially for new grads like us.

Thanks...where did you submit yours? Did you already got your approval? If yes, how long?

hello!

anyone here going to Con for April intake?

Is it true that we can apply for STUDENT VISA for BP? What are the chances for approval? TIA! :) Any successful experiences?

Hello Guyz, does anybody here passed their application to AHPRA WA in the month of September 2011? Did you already receive your Eligibility Letter? Hope someone here can answer this question. Thanks in advance :)

Aila, lady-deeRN, Ishtin, Angelslove, Irin:Here's my case officer's reply today:I refer to your application for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) received on 1 November 2011.*We seem to be in receipt of all the documentary requirements to complete the assessment of your application form.*Your application has now been escalated for final approval. Please note, as every application is assessed on its own merits, a time frame cannot be guaranteed.*Please await for notification regarding the outcome of your assessment.***Let's keep on praying that we get our LOe's soon!!*** ^_^

I also got this letter last Feb 15.. but my application is in AHPRA-NSW and it was received last Nov.7... I gues, we sort of have the same timeline.. DO you have a school for bp, in mind already?

I have a friend who had her application received last oct 2011 in AHPRA NSW, but she still hasn't received her eligibility letter, though she received the final assessment letter 1st week of Feb 2012...

@eliyel hi! I'll know by tomorrow if the partial loan has good terms. Was it philman who told you that they don't give partial loan terms or AG Finance? Actually sometimes their statements are really conflicting :( that's why we already scheduled a meeting tom with AG regarding this matter

I also had a friend that was under Philman and I also attend their orientation. They did say that the AG finance loan is only for those who process their papers with them (with their 70,000 assistance payment-- now 150,000)..

OMG... I'm so sorry for my mistake, I reread the letter that was sent to me and I just found out that I received it Feb.28, not Feb.15 and it was from the WA office!

wow..I'm so delayed...Does it have to do with the constant asking for an update? because I asked for an update on Feb. 15 only...it seems that some who had their application received last December 2011, received the final assessment letter earlier than I did (mine was received last Nov.7 2011)..

is AHPRA-NSW different from AHPRA-WA? i submitted mine last Dec 2011 and I received an email stating that my papers are for final assessment last Feb 23. Some sent theirs Jan 2012 and got the same email also last month. AHPRA-WA is really soooo delayed now.

I came across somebody in facebook who told me that he submitted his application to AHPRA-South Australia and it only took him 1 month to get his approval letter. So for those who are planning to send their application, I suggest that you cross out AHPRA-WA from your options because apparently, Sept 2011 applicants haven't received their LOEs yet so what more for 2012 applicants. :(
