New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hi cummulus. I received a letter form a school stating:

"Please note that baby books and childhood history are not allowed as supporting documents for the vaccination form. Serum test reports and booster shots documents are preferable. This form is going to be used prior to clinical placements so it must be completed."

I hope this helps.

hi baesa! thanks for the heads-up. if that's the case, then, we really need to the booster shots since the serology tests are quite expensive =( if you don't mind my asking, can you please pm where which schools said such? thank you so much =)

How much was the serology test? I read in the previous post here in the thread that the cheapest immunization can be found in Jacob's ladder...here's their website:

I'm sure if it still holds true till this day...Can anyone confirm?

I went to a doctor (SPECIALTY-Infectious) recommended by my friend. . It is quite expensive compared to the price posted by g3stalt. . I paid 1400 for DPT and 1300 for MMR. :o . .

hi! just curious, has anyone ever heard of anyone having to be re-assessed by ahpra, i.e. go through the whole process of application for ahpra eligibility? i've been reading through several threads, and all have given me the impression the only negative feedback regarding the application/assessment was that it can take a very long time. tia for replies.

:)

hey guys! any feedback on AAON and Alpine Health? =)

will a master's degree in nursing will make me eligible not to take the bridging program? =)

i don't think so. there is only a list of countries that are exempted from the BP program as stated in the website. but i guess having a master's degree will help you find a BP provider easily and a job too. Good luck!
