Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi there..I need help...
I am desperately looking for bp centers to take the IRON course..
Somebody here who already got slot for ETEA and CON and did their application process all by themselves?
Can someboy please teach me how and guide me with all the necessary steps to take?
Pleeeeeaaaassssseeee?
Thank you so much.
IHNA seem to have online application form and only require an IELTS of 6.5 if you have the much beloved eligibility letter, but require 2 years experience, worth a try though if you do not have the 2 years experience. Good instructions on how to apply.
hi there!
it really depends if the accredited place for medicals nearest you is already using eHealth in submitting the application. check this site:
(look for the eHealth logo)
i regretted not doing the medicals prior to the lodgement of my application since the accredited agency for medicals in our area is not applying eHealth yet in their processing that resulted to the delay of my visa. I assumed that I will wait for their go signal to do my medicals. But i realized that it is only applied for those who undergo their medicals in an ehealth agency. that is just based on my experience. i do not know with the other applicants.
hi all! i am new here and i have been following this thread for some time now. so much information on here that have been very helpful in the whole process of getting to Australia via BP path. I am curious re: the RN's w/ little or no nursing experience who have tried for the BP - were there any difficulties along the way, especially with looking for a uni for the BP? I would appreciate any feedback.TIA! =)
@ Noelle18i have been offered a place at UniSA.. it's a 4 month bridging program... so i need to get a feedback from the embassy first before the medicals? :)
Yeah, that's what I heard. A friend of mine waited for a go signal from the embassy so she could do her medicals. But, try confirming it with the embassy. :)
I heard that with regards to visa application and medicals, it's the embassy's new rule (just last december) to lodge your application first, before you can do your medicals. I think you have to wait for a request coming from them that you have to do the medical exam. I'm not so sure though :)
Oh is that the new rule? Sorry I am not updated.. You can try inquiring at the accredited clinics or panel doctors because they can better address your concern. Good luck.

How did you pay for the application fee at ETEA? :)
