New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

hi guys!! to those of you who had a 456 visa, how long have you waited for your visa application be approved? coz waiting for mine is really making me anxious. :heartbeat your replies would really mean a lot to me.

@ned1968

may i ask how u apply for BP in IHNA perth campus?

what are the requirements?

list of immunizations that they require?

thanks

Hello. Anybody here who applied for BP in ACFE and AAON? Who is going to AAON in April 2012 intake?

hey everyone, got busy the past few days so it took me a while to catch up with all the new posts.

@joiemike, thanks for the finance primer. hopefully the currency stays as strong in the next few months/years.

i would understand why they wouldnt want to place foreign trained nurses in ICUs immediately. though there are hospitals here in our country with high tech facilities, i'm sure the setup there is still much different. Perhaps after a couple of months/years exposure one would be more confident in the intensives. After the bridging program, do employers look at your previous work experience here in ph and consider that for actual placements? Or is everyone considered to play in the same level, ie, as entry-level nurses? I'm a bit concerned coz most of my exposure here's been in Pediatrics-ICU/wards. If i start looking for employers, would I be considered for, say, adult MS? Or should I expect some difficulties?

I can see a lot of people are already moving on with their bridging programs/visa applications and medicals. As for me, I'm still waiting to take my IELTS this march, coz mine expired 2 years ago! But it didnt completely go to waste coz I was able to file for a visa screen with it, but since the US is apparently closed, then I'm trying a different route. Also waiting for some other documents, like TOR, RLE/course description, etc...Certficates of employment take a while in our hospital...probably a bit more than a month, coz a lot of people are resigning. I have an old copy, but that was from last year. Would it be a good idea to submit my application to AHPRA with the old COE, once I got all the other school docs and IELTS and just forward a new updated one later? Not to be too excited, but just to get the ball rolling, if you know what I mean? Or would that cause more delay/inconvenience in the future? Thanks and good luck to everyone!

@LADYDEE RN thank you..it helped me lessen my worries..actually, i just received an email today from APHRA and they told me not to pass again the requirement which i already passed before together with my application. God bless..=)

Hello Erikadioza!

you just go IHNA's website College of Nursing Australia, Health Education in Australia, Nursing Professional Development :: IHNA and fill up the application and submit it online as well. After they received the form then they will schedule you for an interview thru Skype. If you passed the interview then you will be advised to pay $500 AUSD for the e-learning and give you access theu e-learning (online course after the payment), an offer letter will be send to you for your schedule intake. A payment for enrollment fee and possible tuition fee will be required for you to have a Confirmation of Admission so you can start on your visa application.

Immunizations will just be sent out together with Confirmation of Admission and you just need to present it once you start your BP with IHNA.

Hope this helps..

I'm from Davao and I sent it to embassy via courier service. yep, i followed up my application almost everyday. its just that i still dont know until now who is my case officer coz i haven't received any emails which indicate a name of a case officer and his/her contact number.
