New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Which is better for BP? ACFE or Mercy Health Training Inistitute? Both in Melbourne.

I got my eligibility letter yesterday after more than 3 months of waiting from ahpra WA. does anybody here know which is better for Abp if ACFE or Mercy Health Training Inistitute? Will be applying this week.
Congratulatins adyhottie! How many weeks did u wait after receiving the email that your papers were for final assessment already?

I waited for 6 weeks after they told me that my application is on it's final approval.

Which is better for BP? ACFE or Mercy Health Training Inistitute? Both in Melbourne.

Mercy Health has a very strict selection criteria. They only have 6 slots, so they select the best of their applicants (the ones with the longest work experience).

only 6 slots every batch? i heard it has only one week of theory and the rest is clinical placement because they have their own hospital. I will still probably apply to Mercy Health and try..

Thanks for the reply adyhottie and congratulations!

Thank you. I wanna try Mercy Health because I heard from my co-workers here in Australia that it is a Government hospital. So probably they can hire you if you also do you bridging in their hospital after the bridging. But they require 3 years experience at least.

Hi Guys! Good day. I have two concerns at the moment and please do correct me if I am wrong.

1) Upon submitting our papers to AHPRA, we only need to pay the Assessment and Application fee which is $220 and $115 respectively, total amount of $335 right?

2) What does "drawn on an Australian bank" mean if we want to pay the said fees in money order or bank draft? What bank here in the Phils that caters such services?

I know it has been answered somewhere here but I couldn't locate it specifically.

Thank you so much for the help!

Hello Guys,

I just wanted to ask about the transcrip of records. Did you send AHPRA a copy of your RLE Checklist and Delivery Cases?

  • The transcript must include the following:

    1. 1) Applicant’s full name
    2. 2) Length of course (including commencement and completion dates)
    3. 3) Theoretical components listed in hours
    4. 4) Clinical Components listed in hours

Please submit the Related Learning Experience document as evidence of the clinical components of your nursing course.

Thanks!

Guyz, this is the recent email I received from AHPRA WA. Can anybody tell me or give me an idea if how long does it usually take to receive the LOE once they emailed you this kind of information...I'm excited and nervous all at the same time...hehehe

I refer to your application for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) received on 7 October 2011.

We seem to be in receipt of all the documentary requirements to complete the assessment of your application form.

Your application has now been escalated for final approval. Please note, as every application is assessed on its own merits, a time frame cannot be guaranteed.

Please await for notification regarding the outcome of your assessment.
