New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Somebody told me that it is 3-4 months . . . . .in AHPRA-QUEENSLAND my friend got his eligibility letter after 3 months . . processing in AHPRA-WA is taking long too . .it is almost 3 months and a half now but i don't have my letter of eligibility letter yet . .

that fast. I was really aiming for LTU. In HIS time, I know I will make it in AUS before Septemeber. Law of attraction!! hehe :)

Hi! I sent mine on September 16,2011. I called up AHPRA-WA two weeks ago, an agent told me that they are now processing the applicants of September. Your case officer emailed you already? Everytime I call their office, they keep on asssigning me to different case officer and told me to just wait for him/ her to contact me. The last time I checked, the applicants of August received their letters on November. It's been 4months and I wonder what happened to ours? I hope that we could receive it soon because I'm planning to enroll at CON in Sydney. :)

hi pinkmarj! do you happen to know someone who submitted her application to AHPRA-WA last August 2011 and already got her LOE last november? How come September applicants like you and laydee-rn haven't received your letters yet if august applicants got theirs last november already? i submitted mine last december 2011 to WA.

i'll be flying to australia today.

see you guys at CON

thanks! I just passed my application last week and i was told that 6 months is the usual period of waiting but i hoped it'l be less. Since I started viewing this thread i havent read anyone who passed in AHPRA Sydney so I was a lil worried if I'll receive an eligibility letter like in other states. I just requested for my certificate of good standing from prc and my ielts result from idp philippines lastweek,so still incomplete requirements :( but I hope I'll receive my eligibility anytime this year.. mine's still months away but urs' already 3months then maybe it'll arrive anytime soon.. Goodluck to u! :)

Your IELTS has to be valid by the end of the BP, I suggest re-sit it as to avoid any delays in the future.
