Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Does anybody here a california nclex passer and already submitted their application to ahpra?
hi kringkring. im an nclex passer too submitted my application to WA last december 2011. if your registered you have to request for a cert of good standing from bon-cali, if you're just a passer then you just have to clarify with your case officer if ever she asks you to send such cert. :)
Just submitted my application last week, I'm also wondering how long it would take before we'd get a reply from AHPRA. Probably 5-6 months?
Depends on where you passed your application,Noelle. If you sent it to WA you might have to wait that long since they are still assessing the applications sent last september according to one of the members here.Otherwise usual processing takes 3-4 months.
...and it must be a current IELTS 7 pass to apply for registration after BP program ...and as the whole purpose of your sojourn is to get an employer to give you full time job and for them to apply for a sponsorship visa.......you need a current IELTS to apply for the visa as well at 7. And that may take months as these visa's for nurses not specialized or with little experience dry up. Hope you have Experience to offer the Australian community.
hi pinkmarj! do you happen to know someone who submitted her application to AHPRA-WA last August 2011 and already got her LOE last november? How come September applicants like you and laydee-rn haven't received your letters yet if august applicants got theirs last november already? i submitted mine last december 2011 to WA.
A forumer here mentioned that after she submitted her papers on August, she received her letter, 3months after. I assumed that I'll receive mine on December if I submitted my application on September. However, January will end soon, I hope they'll contact me this week.
Hi there aila. I submitted mine last August 2011 and got my LOE mid November. Maybe it took more than 3 months for September applicants because of the long holiday season. Just hang on there, in time it will come. :)hi pinkmarj! do you happen to know someone who submitted her application to AHPRA-WA last August 2011 and already got her LOE last november? hi leey86! I'm keeping fingers crossed too that I'll receive my letter soon! Do you have any tips or suggestion that I should do while waiting for my eligibility because I'm planning to enrol in CON too. What are the vaccines should I have? thanks
had my mantox test from my hospital (TBDOTS) , they give certificates. would this be enough proof im "negative" with mantoux? anyone who has an idea?
hi stemcell101!
I think the certificate is enough proof. However, just to be sure, you can have a chest x-ray for your peace of mind. I did mine after having getting a negative result on mantoux test.
