New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I have another query how long it would take for the certificate of good standing couriered by PRC to reach AHPRA? thanks.

If its through EMS it will take 7 working days. If you're in a hurry, you can also request PRC to deliver it through courier, but its much expensive 1,400+ in DHL and the documents will be delivered 3-4days. When I submitted my application I opted for courier because I want my documents (application pack and the PRC pack) to be delivered together so that both parcel will arrive in WA on the same date. However it's much expensive because I paid 2.8k+ since the PRC document must be on a separate parcel.

As for the certificate of good standing I think its not over P500. P75 for the document and around 200-300 for the stamp, envelope etc.

Is it true that the Bridging Program will not count if you will be applying for a Permanent Resident visa since it is a "Non-award" program?

My friend visited IDP few days ago and as per advise, they said the AHPRA has a new memorandum that they will be needing at least 2 years experience for one to be able to pass their assessment?

I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks and more power!

hi aila. . wow 20 days of assessment .. :yeah: when did ur friend send her documents to AHPRA and in what state? thanks. . :)

hi! my friend's consultancy sent her application to Perth. She said its faster there. Her application was sent April this year, she was able to go to Australia last august and now she's finished with her BP and already has an employer who's currently processing her working visa. :) it was indeed very inspiring that's why I am also availing the services of her consultancy. I think its an advantage since they know the complete requirements already like the course description, proper CV format etc. As what I have read in this thread, a lot of applicants had their own delays because of incomplete requirements. I think my friend got hers faster because her application requirements were complete. :)

Yes, a certificate of your hospital experience is one of the req to be submitted. It would be better if it indicates the number of hours, yet a phrase showing that you've been working full time for at least 3 months and more, that will do..CV sent:)

Good luck..

awww... oh i see... the hospital wont release that such certficate if they will know i am going to leave them.. hahaha! but then i'll try.. ahihihi! Thanks makikay for the email! Thanks again for helping me.. God bless you.. :nurse:

Happy goody sunday!!:)

I read this somewhere in AHPRA's FAQ regarding of the evidence of nursing practice..

Q5.

How do I show that I have undertaken the equivalent of a minimum of 3

months fulltime within the past 5 years?

A. You may provide any of the following: a service statement from your

employer(s); pay slip(s); income statement for the year; and other methods at

the discretion of NMBA.

or you can check this link (http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov...FctRUAuA%3D%3D)

Hope this will give an alternative way for your problem..

God bless;)

As from July this coming year you must put in an expression of interest to apply for the visa for permanent residency. If they have stacks of nurses applying with very little experience they are not going to give a visa to you.

Though AHPRA have been fairly slack with assessments so far - university level - this does not happen - and english requirements - they were accepting english taught in ESL countries! so I would not worry about the 2 year rule...will probably never happen.

You must also to put in expression of interest, pass the points test and you will not get enough points if you cannot claim the 3 years experience. All regional sponsorship needs 2-3 experience and relatives cannot give you sponsorship points if they are not living in what is considered a 'rural area'

To claim points as having studied in Australia you need to have studied for 2 years.

I think it is about time AHPRA lifted their requirements in experience, if it is them your are talking about and not ANMAC who assess for migrations suitability.

Thank you for the reply ceridwyn... from this quote "As from July this coming year you must put in an expression of interest to apply for the visa for permanent residency." --- Do you mean during our application of visa for the Bridging Program? Thank you and more power!

hi danceinstructor. the consultancy is called Phil Management Inc. If you want you can check their website or facebook account. just type the name of the consultancy. they have their contact number there. Its a bit expensive because they just increased their processing fee. They are based in Ortigas. :)
