Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Good Day!
I went to PRC Philippines to get my certificate of good standing or registration status(Registered Nurse) which is required by AHPRA for my eligibilty. However, they won't issue the certificate unless I have my license card and they are yet to release the license card this March 2012.
In the absence of this, what must I submit to AHPRA?
Maybe yet, you can give me a link.
Thank you!
P.S. July 2011 Fresh Nurse Graduate
Good day!
I will be personally lodging my application next next week. It's a risk for me, actually.
So i'll be attaching with the AGOS 40 my certified copy of passport, visa, travel document, certification of passing the board plus the ratings, CV following AHPRA's format, My TOR, My course outline from school. (as far as i have checked, that would be all i have to attach)
Ill take my ielts in perth but ill review here in the Phils staring this Monday.
I have a problem 'cause I can't provide any certificate of registration status because our license card for July 2011 Nurses will be released this March 2012 and they can't issue a certificate without the license. Im going to PRC to ask if they could provide another evidence aside from that. Moreover, i have zero nursing work experience. (any advice?)
RISK. :) Taking it. I also have a back-up plan just in case I dont get my LOE. Im going to IDP tp inquire for RN Coversion Program, that one which would take 1 year.
Praying for the best.
God bless to us in our pursuits!

You do know that you need to have at least 3 months experience in your home country for you to be considered by AHPRA for registration. Without this AND without your license card, your application will be delayed or worse, denied.
hi Meng:)In order for you to get the EXACT requirements you are looking for please click this
site---->> http://www.ahpra.gov.au/Search.aspx?q=AGOS%2040 and it will give light to your queries number 1 and 3. That is an application form for an overseas nurse who wants to apply in AHPRA. It also includes the requirements for us to prepare and what to submit, plus some instruction what dox to send immediately from the PRC to AHPRA office. Honestly, it really needs time to read it. If you gt confused in the middle of your reading, you can ask it here..
2. You need to submit it through post, either regular mail or by courier. And if you don't know where to send your dox, you can choose whether you want to be assessed in Victoria, NSW, WA or etc. Their respective address can be found in AHPRA website.
3. how long it will take? the assessment period? some will take 3-4 months or more, maybe depending to what state. but as far as i know it's getting longer now due to a number of applicants.
So, if you are decided to apply, better read the application form or the AGOS-40 and that is the very first step for your aussie dream..
Good luck:)
Thanks to you Makikay, im glad you replied.. i read the AGOS form, whew it really takes time, but at least it gives me idea and i knew it already.. i'll be fixing my documents this week and hopefully i can finish it before this month ends.. and if ever i have other concerns, everyone will be open to answer me.. =) Thanks again!
I have a question what if i am still working in the hospital and you said that APHRA is asking for, is it a "certificate of employment?" They need total hours of my work there? or CV will do? Can someone please give me their own CV format for aphra? =) email me at [email protected].. thanks again! =)

Yes, a certificate of your hospital experience is one of the req to be submitted. It would be better if it indicates the number of hours, yet a phrase showing that you've been working full time for at least 3 months and more, that will do..CV sent:)
Good luck..
