Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
I think its bad news for me, because I was ready to pass my requirements within this week. Oh well i need to catch up then. Will take the IELTS ASAP.You really are updated on the current news of AHPRA. Many thanks to you makikay RN! :)
Can I ask if you are already working in AUS or if not what state are you planning to register in AUS? :)
No, i am still waiting for my eligibility letter from AHPRA. I sent my doc in AHPRA WA because i heard before from my colleagues that the processing in WA is faster than other territories. However, right now is getting slower due to a number of applicants.
Anyway, once you are done and passed the BP, youll be registered in AHPRA (AUSTRALIA),which means you are registered and can work any states in Australia, yahooooooo :D:D
WOW!! Same here I am applying for WA.. I am planning to take on IELTS this OCtober so I can still catch up before another "new" and "unexpected" news will come from AHPRA.
Can I ask for your email add because I really want to ask a lot of things just to make sure that the process that I will do in applying for an LOE is right. of course if that is okay with you..
Godbless to you and I hope that this will be your chirsitmas gift this year! :)
okay. so i have just received an email form IHNA that I successfully completed my interview BUT, they want me to undergo their new course which is available online. It is called the Introduction to RN Bridging Program in which it is a prerequisite for the international nurses to be fully equipped for the bridging program proper. Hmmm.. somebody who encountered the same situation as I have? Do I really need to take this course first?
Huh? Is it going to cost you? Sounds like they are just adding an unnecessary course for the bp. Your AHPRA letter of eligibility should be good enough to enroll in a bridging course for overseas nurses.

Yeah hopefully il have a positive response from AHPRA within this year so i can have an earliest BP next year too..;)
You are right, take and pass the IELTS exam asap so you won't be surprised for a new and unexpected changes in AHPRA. Sometimes their changes are kinda deadly for us hahaha...
Il pm you my email
If you are intelligent enough to spot that then you should be intelligent enough to write your own CV. Some people put a lot of time and effort making their own CV. Some even go out of their way to pay other people to create their CV. You already have a format of the CV, why would you need a sample? People here will be happy to lend a hand but don't ask for an arm and leg as well!AHPRA assured you huh? Was that the generic email that they send applicants letting them know that they received your application? I hardly think that that's an assurance that they've checked your incomplete documents my dear.
Take time to read even the recent posts in this thread. 6 months...a year...over a year...that's how long these guys have waited to get their letter of eligibility. Dare I say it...they even submitted complete forms with all the bells and whistles. You are in Australia, you submitted your forms about 3 months ago and yours should be treated ahead of everyone else? How would other people from this thread feel about that? They don't have the luxury to visit an AHPRA office in Australia. They prayed and waited. Isn't it obvious that your form is in a queue like everyone else's. That doesn't mean that they are not doing their job properly. They are just doing their job! They have to deal with a lot of applicants and multiply that with tons of emails. And I'm sure some send more than one email.
AHPRA is an institution that you should respect. You are not an RN in Australia yet.
Instead of whining, just get the job done and hope you can bypass all these other Filipino RNs. After all you are already in Australia and they are in the Philippines.
PS
It's 'their job' not 'there job'.
Sorry guys but treat the institution with respect especially if you want to be part of it.
Hello bobby... I don't mean to butt in your heated conversation with blicka... I just thought that you might also want to show her some respect... She was only sharing her experience and expressing her frustrations.. and I believe everyone has the right to do that... Im sure she did not intend to be disrespectful to AHPRA...
Another thing, you are right about reading this thread from the very beginning and if you did read it, you would be aware that there are a lot of forumers here asking for a sample CV to serve as reference.. and instead of judging these forumers for being lazy and dependent, the members here actually gave them samples.. I myself had received a copy from someone here... and i thought it was very useful... I didn't copy it word for word but I got a clearer idea on what I should put in my CV...
With this, I hope you do understand that this forum is created to help struggling nurses in their application... and any help will be greatly appreciated... all other demeaning and useless information are unsolicited...
God bless!

indeed joiemike. it costs 500AUD.. that is a huge amount. some of my friends avail this online course but they already have their visa and slot for bp secured. i fear that i will have to complete this course first before granting an offer letter from them. that letter is badly needed to process the visa..
Hi everyone,I need help for my application in AHPRA. I am on student visa here in OZ and while studying I lodged my assessment and I have been waiting for ages for the result. Only to find out I lack two more documents, my CV and Certificate of Good Standing. Bloody AHPRA! They can't even be bother to contact you unless you go there personally. But anyway, I am just wondering does anyone know how to apply or anyone applied already without going to PRC for Certificate of Good Standing? One more thing, anyone generous to give me a sample of CV :) Thank you!
Need answers ASAP! plssss
Hi blicka... I think its pretty normal for AHPRA Vic to have this sort of thing... I mean, with the increasing number of applicants, the assessment takes a lot longer.. The reason they did not contact you earlier could be because they haven't assessed your application yet... Atleast, this was cleared now...:)
Anyways, if you need a copy of the sample CV.. I can send you one... I got it from a member here... you can PM me your email ad so I could forward it there...

The school is really taking advantage of the numerous applicants right now. I just feel it dubious, though, for them to make you enroll in a pre - bridging course program.
Well, on the other hand, I wouldn't really complain if I were you. Their tuition fee is still cheaper even with the $500 pre-bridging course program. My tuition fee at ETEA was already Au $11,900. Good thing I was able to avail of their old rate. Their new tuition fee is already Au $14,000.00.
Although, my consolation at ETEA is their early exit option. I really hope that I can avail of it. Better do well during lectures and clinicals.
The best thing for you to do is hope you can get in other bp schools. Most Uni's like LTU, Deakin, UB still have the cheaper tuition fees of around $10k. This is apart from HPH which has the cheapest at only $4k. And these Uni's have early exit options too!!!
hi. I sent my application last Sept. 6. And AHPRA received my application Sept. 9, but until now, they haven't acknowledged that they have already received my documents. Do I need to email them about this or do I have to wait for the confirmation? thanks.
If I were you, I´d ring them, email them and do anything to make sure ur docs are there:up:
Read my previous pots and you´ll undrestand why I´m telling this!

Yeah.. I realized that too joiemike. It is indeed much cheaper compared to ETEA. Im planning to enroll in the schools you mentioned but i'm having second thoughts because I don't have friends who undergone their BP in these schools. I don't have someone i knew within the vicinity of these schools so I might have difficult time looking for my accommodation once I am enrolled.

Hi NurseNathalie!
I cannot reply to your PM yet. You can PM me your email address, then I'll get back to you as soon as I receive it. :)
