New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Can i have your emails guYs? Ihave some questions lang. Just got my offer letter! Wee. Hope to see you guys there. :)

yep yep! coz they told me it is needed in order to somehow give me an idea about BP itself, etc. better have it than to enroll in other schools with expensive BP fees. earlier this week, i have plans to apply to other schools aside from IHNA. But i have to complete this application since im into this since August. :)

You're right. Even with the additional $500, IHNA tuition fee is still reasonable. Congratulations! I hope I'll get lucky like you ;) I hope they will accept me. I hope they would like me enough to consider me for an interview:lol2:

The more the merrier! Did you ask idp's help with your application at LTU? The vaccines are too many.. Where do you plan to have yours?

Is this really necessary? By the time you will have your theory, you will know about BP itself anyway. Read up on what BP is all about then you won't have to spend unnecessary dollars for it. But if it is compulsory and required, then you have no choice, I guess. Cheers!

Hello bobby... I don't mean to butt in your heated conversation with blicka... I just thought that you might also want to show her some respect... She was only sharing her experience and expressing her frustrations.. and I believe everyone has the right to do that... Im sure she did not intend to be disrespectful to AHPRA...

Another thing, you are right about reading this thread from the very beginning and if you did read it, you would be aware that there are a lot of forumers here asking for a sample CV to serve as reference.. and instead of judging these forumers for being lazy and dependent, the members here actually gave them samples.. I myself had received a copy from someone here... and i thought it was very useful... I didn't copy it word for word but I got a clearer idea on what I should put in my CV...

With this, I hope you do understand that this forum is created to help struggling nurses in their application... and any help will be greatly appreciated... all other demeaning and useless information are unsolicited...

God bless!

hello Mhai,

I think that that is the kind of help that she actually needs. The truth is a bitter pill. I too was also sharing my frustration. Saying things like "bloody AHPRA, not doing their job properly, *****(obviously expletives) ...are very clear indications that she 'intended' to disrespect AHPRA. It is the institution that will register you to practice your profession in Australia. What would an Australian RN think of Filipino nurses if she comes across this thread? You do know that anyone in the world who has access to this website can read your posts, don't you? Would you think she would be inclined to help anyone here? What would a Filipino RN think if a foreigner says that PRC is incompetent?

CVs...sharing CVs...the CV format is there...I don't get it. I stand corrected. There are people who do want to give an arm and a leg.

I never said that the forumers here are lazy and dependent. Please enlighten me on that one.

I find that most of the forumers here are BRAVE, in caps lock. Why? There are some of you who may not have traveled out of the country (Philippines), there are some who are well traveled...a lot of you don't have experience (obviously from the title of the thread)...You will be travelling into a country that you may not have been before. A culture different from your own, a language you may be uncomfortable using.

A tight budget and other baggage you carry. Yet you are eager to jump in...jump in a pool of uncertainty. A tough competitive environment. No guarantees of work and the risk of going in debt. My hats off to all of you. That's being honest.

I completely understand this forum. There are applicants - the majority group. There are those who are in Australia doing their BPs - don't know how many there are, very few I think, they are too busy with their BPs. There is 1 I know is an 'employer of nurses' - he/she said.. I work as an RN here in Australia.

Somebody has to say it...YOU DO NOT DISRESPECT THE INSTITUTION. I don't find that useless information.

i didn't go through IDP. I'm still not done with the vaccines. when do you plan to enroll? hope the four of us nina razetine can meet up so we cn discuss accommodations etc. Student visa is quite expensive, I am wondering if after 3 months we could work while looking for jobs :-)

hello baesa :D:D:D

Is it clear in your docs that states its a theoretical and clinical Units? Sometimes they thought the docs was different due to the title of the papers u sent. You can email them for some clarifications. :nurse:

Hi makikay_rn! Yes, it clearly states the theoretical and clinical units. However, details regarding the number of hours on lecture and laboratory were written on a separate sheet (this is the school's format). And so I have sent them an email for clarification but no reply yet since Monday last week. I emailed them again just today so as to follow up my clarification. I'm hoping they would reply to my messages.

Anyhow thanks for the reply makikay_rn, it was highly appreciated.
