Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
okay. so i have just received an email form IHNA that I successfully completed my interview BUT, they want me to undergo their new course which is available online. It is called the Introduction to RN Bridging Program in which it is a prerequisite for the international nurses to be fully equipped for the bridging program proper. Hmmm.. somebody who encountered the same situation as I have? Do I really need to take this course first?
Really? I just submitted my application for IHNA last saturday and I haven't heard from them since. This is a "not so good" news :uhoh3:How much does this new course cost?
:eek:How dare they! Have these requirements on their application form and when the applicant does not provide, do not contact the applicant!![]()
Maybe contact a relative and also if possible do some research on this forum for CV's.
Here's the link for the CV format:http://www.ahpra.gov.au/cv.aspx
I found that on the AGOS-40 form, you know the part where it says "It must also contain all the elements defined in AHPRA's
Standard Format for Curriculum Vitae which can be found at...".
Guys please read the form. The CV should have been sent with your AGOS-40. If you read the form, it tells you that you need the Cert of Good standing. I just skimmed through the form and found these information. You who should have read the form should read it thoroughly.
Why are you blaming AHPRA for your shortcomings? If I work at AHPRA I won't contact you either.
You mean AGOS-04??? not AGOS-40. Sample CV is way different from CV format just so you know. Aren't you gonna be ****** if they assured you to just wait for the email and they checked all my papers upfront saying its all good blah blah blah.... I still have the right to blame them for not doing there job properly. But not a big deal anyway, we learn from our mistakes.

The said course costs 500aud. i asked my friends who undergone their BP in IHNA and said that they didn't avail this course.
I guess they didn't reply yet to you since they told me that they are accommodating huge number of applicants as of the moment.

hello baesa :D:D
Is it clear in your docs that states its a theoretical and clinical Units? Sometimes they thought the docs was different due to the title of the papers u sent. You can email them for some clarifications.
Hi MakikayRN! :)
thank you for this very useful info! :)
One problem is that my IELTS exam has a 6.5 in writing. Do they need this IELTS result and if they do will they allow me even with a band score of 6.5 in writing?
Or do I really need to pass an IELTS result to AHPHRA? I only have my certificates that english was the major language used in HS and college. I am planning to take IELTS again when I have received my LOE from AHpra because I know the school will really need an IELTS result.
Thank you so much!!

per AHPRA's new rule, only those who got their secondary education and nursing education in USA, UK, NZ, Canada, Ireland, and Australia will be exempted. The rest need to take the IELTS exam.
please refer to this:
I think its bad news for me, because I was ready to pass my requirements within this week. Oh well i need to catch up then. Will take the IELTS ASAP.
You really are updated on the current news of AHPRA. Many thanks to you makikay RN! :)
Can I ask if you are already working in AUS or if not what state are you planning to register in AUS? :)

I am sorry kadaRN, iamnomad is right, you really need to have at least 7 in all parts in IELTS exam, AHPRA will not continue their assessment or respond you a negative outcome if you do not have a qualifying IELTS score.
Better retake the exam and when you pass all 7, you can send all docs to ahpra. Just do more practice and focus more in writing especially in part 2. Surely you will pass the exam, and pray harder too.. Good luck and God bless you:nurse:
