New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi. thank you for the reply. I passed my documents to AHPRA WA. do you know their email address? if yes, please can you send it to me through private message? thanks... or maybe someone else knows the email address of AHPRA WA

Good morning dear!

When you write to AHPRA on their online form, there´s a blank in which you need to fill that you can choose your state, so just choose WA and that´s it!:lol2:

Good luck:heartbeat

Hi Nathalie, can't PM you yet. i need 15 posts. anyway i'll just answer your question here. actually, when i received an email from an assessor, it took me a month to prepare my lacking docs coz my employer was out of town and I needed her signature. then, around 1 or 1 and a half mos for the approval. my eligibility is only valid for 12mos.

hi earubi! we're on the same boat right now. hehe. i think we have to apply for bp first then apply for visa. that's the time they'll be needing the vaccinations.

congratulations to all those who have their ahpra letters! that's a very big step to aussie dream!:yeah:

hi netzkee ;)

when did you pass your docs to AHPRA WA? i had passed mine last July. Hope we could be eligible before the years ends and have our BP early next year.

Good luck and Godbless to us:saint:

Hello makikay... I just passed mine 3 days ago. I tracked it through Fed Ex and my documents were delivered, but I didn't get any confirmation from AHPRA, maybe because they have a lot of applicants these days... Yes I hope we would get our eligibility letter this year and hopefully be in AU soon.

Maybe you'll receive an email a week after, same as mine. Have u send all the documents to Ahpra? i need to contact my ielts review center where i processed my exam so i could let them contact the main office of ielts to send a copy of my ielt result to aphra. did you do this too?;)

Question: Can you apply online in the schools? or do you really need the original letter from ahpra? I was informed 3 schools are already booked til next year! How can I apply? Do I have to pay the fee upon sending the application?

As soon as you get your AHPRA letter, you immediately apply to as many bp schools as possible. Yes, all of them accept online applications. You download their application forms, fill them up. Send it back to them together with the scanned copies of all your supporting docs. To cover all the bases, I scanned the original and certified true copies (xerox) of all my documents including each page of my TOR. That way, I don't have to go back and forth to an internet cafe to scan documents (I don't have my own scanner).

Some bp schools don't have a standard application form in their website. What I did was to email them an application letter and attached scanned copies of my AHPRA letter, passport, and IELTS Test Report Form.

Always keep on following up (but politely). Don't be discouraged to apply to schools that are already full for a particular intake or a school that has no available intake as of the moment. Submit your application just the same. You never know there might suddenly be a slot available for you when somebody else did not confirm his. That's what happened to me with ETEA. I didn't even know they had an Oct intake. I was already sulking in a corner knowing that if I can't get in Mercy in November, I might have to wait for the January intakes of other schools. :D:lol2::D:lol2:

I hope so. I sent all the documents, but I am having a problem with my certificate of Good standing from PRC. Because I requested it 3 months ago. I don't know if I have to re-send the documents. I emailed AHPRA WA just now. Still waiting for their reply. I haven't done that yet because I will still take my IELTS soon...

You can just wait for a reply from the office especially that if they' are starting to assess your docs, they will inform you to send the lacking docs..

Good luck to your exam :yelclap: and congrats in advance
